Leap
For the first time in what seemed like forever Leap woke up without any fear of the day ahead. Yesterday had been a crazy and hectic day. Her gamble on the young barang teacher had paid off as she had sensed Leap’s fear and knew something was very wrong. Her two Khmer assistants had not been so kind at first and had scolded Leap in Khmer for trying to scam the teacher. But as her story unfolded, even they realised that the little girl needed help and she had seen genuine tears in their eyes. Then the new woman had come, Kunny, and from the start Leap knew that she could trust this woman. Looking into her eyes, Leap could see mirrors of her own pain and knew that Kunny understood some of what she had been through.
Trusting her also meant she could trust the two colleagues of Kunny
