I write for pleasure and because I feel I have stories to tell. In my time in Cambodia, I have witnessed extreme cases of poverty and need but have also witnessed some amazing examples of the selfless human spirit, people who give their time, effort and love for no other reason than to help and for no reward. In an increasingly fractured global society, often characterised by tales of greed and hate, it is reassuring to still find these pockets of humanity keeping the flame of human kindness alight. There are many NGOs (non-governmental organisations) and organisations here that are not the best, who have more interest in driving a Lexus and living in a big villa than in making any real difference.
