Chapter 101 Arielles POV “Alaric?” I called out but there was no response. I kept on running from those chasing me trying to get to Ryan or Alaric because I knew they’d protect me but it seemed my legs were begging to fail me. I shouted at Alaric who was standing at a distance but he didn’t turn back like he heard me. It was almost like he couldn’t hear me. “Alaric?” I called in doubt that he’d leave me in a situation like this. He continued talking to his guards like I wasn’t standing there. They caught up with me and I was too confused to even fight back anymore. What was going on? Why wouldn’t anyone hear me? Ryan walked beside me but he didn’t pause like he saw me being dragged away by some hefty men. Were they ignoring me on purpose? Couldn’t they see I was in danger? My mind ran through different thoughts as I stared at the both of them talking to one another as I was dragged away till they were finally out of sight. They left me? I woke up feeling lightheaded as I struggled to recollect what just happened. My eyes were aching badly as well as my head and every single part of my body. I looked around after struggling to open my eyes trying to understand where I was. It was dark and the whole atmosphere was stuffy and it was hard to see whatever was around me. I could only see with the aid of a little window which was positioned at a very high place in the room I was in. The bags beside me smelled like wood or something. It seemed like a warehouse. Was this a dream too? What was going on? I recalled what happened, seeing the guest house owner and how he stared at me with a smirk while I lost consciousness. He brought me here! This was all him! I tried breaking myself loose and that was when I noticed the ropes that were tied on my hands and legs making it impossible for me to break free. I tried breaking through the ropes but they were so tight that they started digging into my skin. My hands and legs were hurting badly and the only thing I could think of was how to escape this. I knew I was in danger because I recollected the smirk on his face that day. There was no way out of there, my hands and legs were tied, the doors seemed to be locked from the outside and the only window was so high up that I knew there was no way I could get there. My heart started racing because I couldn’t help myself and I hated the feeling of being helpless. I thought of Alaric, does he know I was missing already? What did he want from me of all people? The questions in my head had no number and there was no answer to any of them. Just then the door opened and I was alerted as I saw a hefty man walk into the room. The light was bright outside which shone brightly on my eyes making it hurt because the room I was in was too dark. He approached me and checked the ropes that were used to tie me, then he used another cloth to tie up my mouth and I couldn’t resist because I felt weak. He left the room after he was done and headed out locking the door behind him. He finally came back with two other men and a fat-looking man with a pot-bellied man standing at the center, he seemed to be the boss. He approached me with a smile plastered on his face and I felt the urge to slap him across the face. I didn’t even know him, what did he want from me? I stared at him angrily waiting for him to say something as he kept analyzing me like I was going up for an auction or something. My mouths were closed but my eyes shot daggers at him. “Those eyes of yours could kill.” He finally uttered, his voice sounded cracky but firm and strict but I didn’t panic. “Yes, and they’d kill you!” I said even if he couldn’t hear me because of the cloth. “She looks okay, she’ll be perfect when the mission is finally completed, she looks like a bold one but it’s a good thing we’ve got that covered, she’s as weak as possible, she won’t be able to fight back.” He said with a smile. “You asshole!” I kept on yelling even if I knew he couldn’t hear me. He was about to leave but he turned back and removed the cloth from my mouth. I tried struggling but I felt weak all over, it felt like I was drugged because my body ached the more I tried to release myself. What did they do to me? “You bastard! What did you do to me? You coward.” I spat out at his face but he laughed and stepped backwards. “I knew you were going to be a very troublesome one so I just made sure you’ll be no trouble to me.” “Wolfbane! You’re pathetic and you should be ashamed.” He laughed out loud before replying to me. “It’s even stronger than wolfbane.” He said, staring deeply into my eyes. What type of man makes a woman weak so he can feel strong? A coward, that was who he was. “What do you want from me? Why did you bring me here? You’re making a big mistake!” “Am I? Well, I do what I want.” “Wait till Alaric finds out I’m here, he’ll make you burn and listen to your tears. “Your charming prince won’t be coming to save you this time around. Nothing will go wrong and this is the end of the road for all of you.” He said with a sinister smile at the corner of his lips.
