Chapter 107
Alaric's POV
“Now I’ll advise you to watch our tones.” He said softly but sternly still bir I care less about if he heard what I said or not. I was saying it so he would hear, who cares?
“Who cares about tones, you’re a f*****g coward and a bastard, just wait till I get my hands on you,” I said, staring blankly at him with so much anger.
I didn’t even know what the asshole looked like because he had a wolf mask on his face and I was so sure he was the one in charge of everything. If they wanted war, why didn’t they ask for war? This was the best chance they would have gotten so I didn’t blame them.
“You still don’t understand Alaric do you? There’s no escaping from this, this is the end, we win and you lose.” He said with so much happiness evident in his tone:
He was a literal psychopath who knows how long he has been planning before this silly plan of his eventually worked out.
“This isn’t the first time I’ll be dealing with someone like you and trust me, this isn’t the last time too and I swear I’ll make you pay because if anything should happen to Arielle, you’ll have yourself to blame,” I said calmly but I know I meant everything I was saying.
If he did as little as giving her a little scratch, I’ll tie him up and burn him alive and listen to his cries for help.
“You care about her don’t you?” He said laughing out like a maniac that he was.
“What do you think?” I snapped back.
“Easy there lover bird, I hope you said your goodbyes when you could because I doubt if you’ll be able to see her again.” He said and I knew he was trying to taunt me.
The thought of never getting to see Arielle again made my heart sink. She was the only one I loved and cared for this much and if anything should happen to her, I failed her, it means I failed to protect the only one I love.
That was never going to happen, I’ll protect her with my life if I needed to because nothing would ever happen to her on my watch.
“I'd like to see you try,” I said daring him.
“I heard you were daring but I didn’t know you were this daring, I’ll have to admit, I love your boldness and I find it cute.”
“You won’t find it cute when I kill every single one of you here and watch you lose every single person you love, I bet that’ll be cute.”
“Is that supposed to be a threat? I don’t have anything to lose, unlike you, having someone you care about is only to slow you down, and you’re the only one with that disadvantage.”
“You have a bitter life and that’s your f*****g problem, but you won’t go through with this.”
“And who’s going to stop me, the both of you? You’re as good as useless here.” He said and the rest burst out laughing.
“If you didn’t poison us and tied us up here, you’ll see why we were a very hard nut to c***k. You have misplaced goals and priorities, what do you want to gain from all of this? All these killings, and kidnappings, are for what?”
“Power! The power you wolves have held to yourself for years. It’s easy for you to say because you’ve held positions for years, from your fathers down to you, you weren't cast out and tagged as outcasts, so trust me, you don’t know.”
“And whose fault is it that you were cast out? You were cast out a long time ago because you’re selfish and you lack humanity!”
“Well guess who’s back and better, we’re taking every single thing you took from us, let’s see how you like to be outcasts.”
“The other wolves will fight you, they won’t let you take their throne on a platter of gold, you won’t have what you came here for, it’s not us then it’s someone us, they’ll always be someone to stop you,” I said coldly.
“This isn’t a fairytale and even if it is; it’s our happy ending.”
I scoffed angrily because his guts were so annoying to me. I looked around and saw the guest owner standing beside the guy I saw with him.
I knew that wasn’t his bloody cousin, I should have known there was something wrong from then but I wasn’t paying attention to the obvious details.
That bastard made it all easy for them by taking down my guards; they were all going down; no one was taking my throne from me.
“So what exactly are you trying to do? What are your plans?” I roared out through the whole room.
“It won’t be much of a surprise if I should tell you, I’ll love to keep you waiting and anticipating, and trust me you’ll never see it coming.”
He stepped backward and ordered his guards. “Get me the prisoners.” He said with a smile plastered at the corner of his lips.
The guards surprisingly walked past us and dragged some men from a room which was behind where we were. They looked so tattered and I guess they've been here for a while.
They finally stood in front of him; where I could see them clearly and I was stunned. These were Alphas and generals.
“Standing before you are Alphas, generals, warriors and I’m sure you’ve met some of them before so consider this your reunion..”
“What the hell?” Ryan mustered.
How did he manage to capture all of them? It turns out this was more serious than I expected, this was all of the neighboring Alphas.
“So what is your plan? Why did you bring us here?”
“With you guys here, we’ll use you to infiltrate your packs.”
This bastard was a bigger enemy than I predicted.
