Arielles POV

“What?” I heard what he said clearly but I didn’t believe that he’ll say something like that after everything. Staying with him all over again? That didn’t seem like something I was eager to do.

It wasn’t like he was a bad person or something but after everything, I just felt it was going to be better for us to stay separately as I would enjoy a little space for the time being.

“Did I say something wrong?” He asked in a slightly sad tone which made me feel bad because I wasn’t sure I wanted to stay with him.

“Not really, but staying together, I don’t know about that,” I said calmly avoiding his very intense gaze on my body.

“Is there anything wrong with us staying together? I just feel that after everything, it’ll be good for us to see ourselves frequently, or do you think otherwise?”

“You're a good person and of course being around you is a good thing but after everything, I just have a feeling that it’s going to be weird, don’t you think so?”

We’ve stayed together before and I wouldn't exactly say it ended that well because of everything that's happening. After Selene, and everything, I wasn’t sure it was a good experience to even remember.

I knew things had changed now and things were going to be better now because all of that was gone and I felt something had changed between the both of us positively.

We were more drawn to each other and the thought of it made me flutter. The thought of seeing his face every day was very tempting but still.

I enjoyed talking to him and talking to him most of the time made me blush hard but I still felt I needed some time to myself after everything, it would be good for the both of us.

“So what stops us, and I think what we need right now is to spend time with each other, and trust me it’ll be fun. We’ll go to

Places together, dates, and all of that. “He said in a very convincing tone but I still wasn’t willing to budge.

“The sound of all of that is so tempting I must say but at the same time, I still feel I need to go home, I just need to see what’s going on there,” I said in a tone of finality and he finally gave up knowing that I wasn’t planning on changing my mind about the situation.

“Okay sure, if that’s what you want then I’ll have to respect that.” He said with a smile which I could tell was fake and it made me feel sad but I was doing exactly what I thought I needed.

“Yeah..”

“So when would you be leaving?”

“Now,” I said calmly. He turned to me like he was stunned because it was starting to seem like I was running from him but I just wanted to be back home.

“Okay, that’s fast but anyways it’s your decision, I’ll send my guards to take you home safely.” He said with a soft smile before going up into his room.

I turned outside to the ride waiting for me with his men and I got in. I sat in calmly and sighed deeply recollecting everything that had happened and I just felt at peace knowing that I was going back home.

The ride was very smooth and calm and after some time we finally arrived I got down and even if it wasn’t that long, it seemed like I was gone forever.

My guards rushed to me and they ushered me in, I walked in and stared at the Large hall and it didn’t seem like anything had changed there.

I walked directly into my room because I was tired and all I needed was some rest. I went into my room which was nearly arranged and it didn’t seem like I even left there to begin with.

I knew everything here was in good hands and they were going to make sure nothing went amiss, that was why I was very comfortable leaving to begin with.

I sent for my trusted aide because I needed an update on how everything had been going ever since I left. I wanted to know if there was anything important that I needed to tend to.

She came in after some minutes and it felt good to see her, especially after seeing the house since I came back. Everything looked so clean and organized.

“You’ve done a very good job, I’m very glad I picked you to supervise my affairs,” I said with a soft smile after she entered the room.

She smiled at my remark. “I’m really glad you think I did a good job ma’am.”

“Oh yes you did, but let’s leave that aside, is there anything I should know about? Any development you should fill me up on?” I asked calmly.

“Actually ma’am, there’s nothing important you should know about because everything is under control. It’s just little issues and they’ve been resolved already so you don’t have anything to worry about.”

I sighed in relief after hearing her assurance.

“How can I thank you enough for everything? You’ll surely get rewarded.”

There was one more thing on my mind I wished she had positive news about.

“Is there any news about Casper? Do you know anything about his whereabouts or have you ever heard anything from him?” I said with hope that they had heard something from him.

I didn’t want to believe that the rogues caught him or something, it was not going to be easy to take Casper, I knew how strong he was and he would find his way out of the situation so what was going on?

“We haven't heard anything, ma’am.”

“This is serious, keep on looking..” I was interrupted when the door opened and a guard walked in.

“There’s a message for you from Alpha Alaric..”

“What is it?”

“He said that you should have dinner at his place.”
