Chapter 3

Carl

“Hey, man. What’s with the look?” my friend, Kayden asked. It was Saturday, so naturally, I was staying at the Solitude Country Club that was founded by me and my other billionaire friends. We built this to have our time away from work during weekends, but as the days went on, this is where we transact our business deals as well.

Each of us has our own estates where we can sleep. And on our estate, only the woman we want to marry has the right to be there. All the employees knew about it and none of them signed their contract and they shouldn’t tell a soul about it.

Whenever I need a woman, I take her to one of the hotel rooms where we are right now. All the boys are here and we are having our get-together. We do it weekly and having all of us here now was rare.

“What are you doing here? Don’t you have a nephew to babysit?” I asked and he laughed. Anak iyon ng kanyang kapatid na namatay sa isang aksidente kasama ang asawa nito at siya na ang tumayong nanay at tatay para dito.

“You know that I have already hired a nanny for him. Well, he wanted to come but I said no. Mathew told me that he was going, kaya naman pinilit ko na makapunta ngayon at nagbabakasali na makumpleto tayo ngayon since siya naman ang laging wala.” he replied,

“And you never answered his question,” Mav said as he sat beside me. “What’s with the look? Don’t tell me it was about a woman?” he added, and I didn’t say anything.

“Wait, is it?” Kayden asked again, “Hey guys come on, our playboy here had a problem with a certain, SHE!!” he shouted, which caught others' attention. I groaned as I knew what would happen next. Ito ang hinihintay na pagkakataon ng mga loko lokong ito, ang mamrublema ako ng dahil sa babae. Hindi naman talaga problema, napag-iisip ko na talaga namang unusual.

“I think I would want to know whoever SHE is,” Mathew said at talagang diniinan pa niya ang salitang “SHE”. He was the most strict and serious one among us. He had liked a girl older than him but she left him. Unlike me, his left just like that, no explanation at all. Well, she did that after their fight.

“No need for you to know because it was nothing.” I replied,

“That’s new,” Jace said,

“Yeah,” Anthony and the others agreed. Ano naman kaya ang bago doon? Ang nakakabilib sa mga ito ay ang dami nilang napapansin sa isa’t isa.

“What’s new?” I asked curiously. I had no idea what they were talking about.

“It’s the first time that you have been defensive,” Mathew answered in a serious voice, and I looked at him and then the others and saw them nodding their heads. Saang banda ako naging defensive?

“What are you guys talking about?”

“You would usually say, “Ah just another fu**.” but you said nothing instead?” Kayden is the one who answered. He was the youngest, but most of the time he was the one who enlightened everyone when we didn’t get anything or whenever we were confused.

“He had not fu** her!!” Mav, the clown among our friends, exclaimed and then laughed. Everyone's mouth hangs open before they burst out laughing.

Kayden was tickling me along with Mav. They were making fun of me and I wanted to feel annoyed, but I couldn’t. They were my friends, that’s why, and they could comment or suggest even the hurtful one or even the truth and I wouldn’t get mad at them.

“It’s not exactly like that,” I told them and they all turned quiet and looked at me, waiting for another revelation, so I told them about Ashley.

“So, you felt challenged because of the fact that she didn’t want herself to get entangled with a playboy that is exactly like her father?” Jace asked.

“Is it? Well, you already warned her that she shouldn’t fall in love with you, so what are you going to do if that happens?”

“That’s her problem, right? I already warned her.” I replied,

“But you will try to seduce her,” Mathew said, “And you know what, be careful what you were planning to do, you don’t want to end up chasing after her, right?” he warned.

“That's not gonna happen. There’s no way that I am going to chase women. I mean, there are a lot of fish in the ocean, right?”

“Yeah,” Mathew said, “But there’s only one who can satisfy you.” he added. I looked at him and he was serious. I don’t know what happened to him and the woman he loves, because it looks to me that he still has feelings for her.

When I turned my gaze to the others, they were all nodding their heads. “You can play all you want now, man. But the time will come that you will find someone who will make you go crazy.” Mathew said again before he got up. “I’ll just go to the restroom.”

“So man, you have to be careful, don’t come running to us, crying.” Jace warned me with a smile on his face.

“You were just like me, you have women that warm your bed. So you better be careful as well.” I replied and we all laughed.

Seriously, they too had their own affairs of their own. But I don’t know about Mathew. He was very secretive and I had not seen him with a woman before. He was a self-made man, but I heard that he was in a relationship when he was starting.

“There goes a woman for you,” Kayden said, looking behind me. I didn’t want to look because I knew that it was the same woman that I had never gone to bed with before.

“Hello, Carl,” the woman said as she wrapped her hands around my neck after she sat on my lap. She is Jane, a senator’s daughter. I don’t know why she keeps on coming back when I already told her that I didn’t want to fu** her.

Yes, I didn't want to. She was clingy and I was afraid that when I gave her what she wanted, I wouldn't be able to get rid of her. And I didn’t want that, she’s not the type who wanted a one-night stand with me. She wanted me for herself and I didn’t want that. Kagaya ng nasabi ko na, hindi ako basta basta nangkakama ng babae, pinipili ko at hindi tinitikman ang alam kong hindi papayag ng isang beses lang.

“Get away from me Jane,” I told her,

“Oh, come on Carl, what could be so wrong with me?” she asked,

“Yeah man, what could be so wrong with her? She’s the senator's daughter for Pete’s sake!!” Mav exclaimed, followed by their laughter.

Jane was smiling at me, “Just get off of me.” I told her and tried to get up. I think I am going to sleep in one of the hotel rooms rather than going to my estate.

I looked at the others before I left, and they knew that I was signing off. I felt exhausted and I wanted to rest, so I had to call it a day. Nagpalipas na ako ng buong weekend sa Solitude since wala din naman akong makakasama sa penthouse.

Monday morning, I made myself extra early so I would know whether Ashley was punctual or not, only to get shocked when I saw her in my office, placing a folder on top of my table.

“Good morning, Sir,” she greeted me with a serious face. She was wearing a knee-length black skirt paired with a pink blouse. She looks innocent and fresh and, at the same time, sexy.

“Next time, wear slacks.” I said, pointing at her skirt before I sat in my chair. God, she had nice legs. What the fu**!

"Excuse me Sir?" she said, confused.

"Didn't I tell you that I didn't want to repeat myself?" I asked angrily.

"I didn't see anything wrong with my skirt. This is a business suit the last time I checked." she replied, which made me feel frustrated even more. How can she look like this in just, what, three days? She was wearing slacks last time, so I didn't have a clear view of her legs.

"Just do as I say, don't wear a skirt, period." I said, just to end our discussion, and sat on my chair and started looking after the folder she had just placed there.

"I'm sorry Sir, but you will be seeing me wearing a skirt," she said, so I glared at her, "I am not as rich as you, so I could go and buy myself another set of business suits in an instant. You will have to wait until I get my paycheck 10 times." she added, and left my office. Sumasagot pa talaga? Nagkamali yata si Mr. James ng pagpasa sa isang ito. Wala nga siyang interes sa akin pero palasagot naman.

Did she just run away? I get it, so she had better buy herself new slacks after getting her every paycheck. Should I give her money so she can buy it already? Hell no! I never even pay the women I fu**. Well, I give gifts, but never money. She really challenges me.
