It was the longest ten minutes of my life, dancing with Allen in the middle of hundreds. All their eyes were fixed on us, and it was only after those ten minutes that a few of the other couples joined us.
"We've done our due diligence," I whispered to him.
"Right," he responded, and then stopped dancing.
I turned to leave and then felt a soft pull on my wrist. Before I could turn around, the entire hall erupted into loud screams.
