I could say nothing after Kate dropped that bomb on me.
It wasn't about how she knew, it was about the implications that had on myself and Allen.
Kate was mad at me for doing something that I very well knew was going to hurt Allen.
Her last words were, "if you are not going to love him, the least you would have done was respect him," and she was right.
I couldn't argue with that.
At the very least, I could have respected the ring he put on my finger, and maybe I wasn't deserving of it at all.
Allen was a perfect man and even though I hadn't known him for long, he showed me nothing but kindness in all the hours of the few days we had been with each other.
He deserved better than I treated him, he deserved better than me.
