"You know better than to be late to dinner, Ethan," the Alpha King's voice was very firm, as we alighted the last flight of stairs, approaching the dinner table. "Uhm..." Ethan seemed to have a bit of a struggle. "Actually, that's my fault, Alpha," I said, "Keep your mouth shut. "I wasn't speaking to you." The Alpha King came down on me very heavily. I was both surprised and embarrassed by his response. "Father!" Ethan called in a loud voice. "What, Ethan?" A petite girl on the dinner table with the Alpha jumped in. "He wasn't speaking with her," she said. From her dress and looks, I could tell she was Ethan's younger sister and obviously younger than I was, but she was extremely mean. "Such a wanna-be," she rolled her eyes and returned to her food. "Like you, you mean?"
