"Daniel?" I called, trying to put myself together.
"In what universe, do you get to banish my mate and then run away with another man, Ellie?" He walked slowly towards me.
"Tell me!" he yelled.
"I didn't banish her, you did!" I spoke at the top of my voice and also very defensively.
"You were going to have her executed, remember?" I added.
"Because she was the only hindrance to us, can't you see?" He held my face passionately.
"Well, apparently now, she wasn't the only hindrance," he said, staring at the ring on my finger.
"Daniel, you rejected me, and you let me go," I said, "no one put a hindrance to us, you did!" Tears were welling in my eyes as I spoke.
