My friends and I went to a*****e near our school to write our math lecture because we forgot to finish it at home. As soon as we sat down, we immediately started writing and quickly finished our lecture.

But as I was about to put my notebook away, I noticed a boy sitting in front of our table. He was good-looking and was also busy writing his math lecture. I didn’t know him, yet I suddenly felt something strange like I had fallen in love at first sight.

I kept glancing at him because he was really handsome, I think I truly fell in love at first sight. But wait, no, that’s not allowed. I shouldn’t be distracted or falling in love right now. I’ll just ask my friends to head back to school.

Ella- Guy's let's go back to school now. We might end up being late.

Mika- Huh? Why? Don't we always end up being late anyway?

Rhea- Yeah, right. is this some kind of miracle?

Ella- Oh, nothing. Just… let’s go already, I have some gossip anyway.

Mika- Gossip? Oh my gosh, let’s go, Rhea! I’m so excited! HAHAHA

Rhea- When it comes to gossip, you're always ready.

Good thing I came up with an excuse so we could go into school so I wouldn’t get distracted by the boy I saw at the store. I really hoped I wouldn’t see him again so I wouldn’t keep thinking about him.

When we entered the classroom, our classmates were surprised because it was the first time we weren’t late. But we just ignored them. I went straight to my seat, while Mika and Rhea quickly put their bags down and ran over to me.

Mika- Ella, Ella! So, what’s the gossip?

Rhea- Gossip? You’re so obsessed, seriously!

Ella- Uhm… well, I kind of forgot… but I do have some gossip for you about the other section next to our classroom.

Good thing I immediately thought of some gossip my friend from the other section just told me, so I can’t deny it… I really am such a gossip! hahaha!

Just as I was about to start telling the gossip, our adviser suddenly arrived. Mika and Rhea immediately ran back to their seats but thank God the teacher came, so I could finally focus properly. You got this, self.

Our first subject went on, and then the next, until fourth period, just like that, until it was finally time for recess.

As soon as the teacher left, I immediately stood up and went over to Mika and Rhea.

Ella- I’m hungry! Let’s go buy something to eat at the canteen.

Mika- Ugh, Ella! You talk so slowly, that’s why your gossip got cut off. Just tell us later at home send it in the group chat.

Rhea- Stop talking, you two. Let’s just hurry because look at that line it’s so long!

Ella- Oh wow, you’re right. What should we do?

Mika- Easy. We’ll just squeeze in so we can buy our food faster.

Ella- Haha, okay!

After that, Mika, Rhea, and I immediately ran to the canteen, squeezed through the crowd, and luckily, we managed to buy our food right away.

Mika- Ouch, my body hurts!

Rhea- That’s your fault! You were the one who planned to squeeze in at the canteen. Now my body hurts too!

Ella- You know what? Let’s just eat first. Then let’s go back to the classroom.

Rhea- Wait, let’s walk around the school a bit first, to shake off the pain in our bodies.

Mika- Yeah, that’s right. Let’s go, Ella.

Ella- Fine, whatever.

Rhea- Huh? “Whatever”? But don’t we always do this walk around the school?

Mika- Something must have happened to you, Ella.

Ella- Huh? Nothing… let’s just go.

I really didn’t know what to do in this day anymore. I was completely losing myself because I couldn’t stop thinking about that boy, and even my friends were starting to notice how different I was acting.

Why does that boy have this kind of effect on me? I feel like I’m losing myself. Lord, please help me I don’t want to fall in love yet. I just got out of a mutual understanding breakup.

I was already frowning, looking like I was extremely stressed about what was happening in my life, as if I were carrying a heavy problem. That’s why my friends kept looking at me they were really worried about me.

Rhea- Are you okay, Ella? Do you have a problem? At least tell us.

Mila- Yeah. We don’t like seeing you like this. You look like you’re losing yourself.

Ella- Uh… it’s just that there’s this boy. He’s having a really big effect on me.

Rhea- A boy? Huh? Who?

While they kept asking questions, the boy I saw at the shop that morning suddenly passed by my side. Our eyes met, though only for a moment but it felt like my world stopped.

As soon as he walked past me, I quickly grabbed Mika and Rhea and ran straight back to the classroom.

Ella- Uh… sorry for acting like this. I promise I’ll tell you everything tomorrow.

Mika- Ella, you and Kairo just broke up, and now you already like someone else?

Ella- What? No, I don’t like him. I just feel something like I’m curious about him or drawn to him.

Rhea- Oh my gosh. Let’s just go inside; Ma’am is already coming.

We immediately went inside the classroom and took our seats. Our subjects continued one after another until it was finally time to go home.

When dismissal came, none of them said a word to me not even one. That’s what made me wonder. I couldn’t help but ask myself: Are they mad at me? Because of how I acted today? Was I overreacting? Did I do something wrong?

I didn’t even realize that while I was lost in my thoughts, Mika and Rhea were no longer beside me. Maybe they really were upset with me because of my behavior. The surroundings were quiet, and the wind felt cold as I walked near our house.

When I got home, I immediately put my bag in my room and changed my clothes. After that, I grabbed my phone and messaged them right away.

[Ella- Is that so? I’m really sorry. I’ll make it up to you tomorrow, okay? I’ll treat you guys.]

[Mika- Alright, you said it, huh? HAHAHAHA]

[Rhea- Mika is really a gossip girl and a foodie too.]

After making them laugh, I immediately turned off my phone, ate in a hurry, and went to sleep.

I woke up early and went to school. I tried to make them happy again, joking around and treating them to the food they liked.

But the boy I saw at the shop yesterday still wouldn’t leave my mind. Even though I tried to ignore him, he stayed in my thoughts but I didn’t let it affect me anymore.

A week passed, and I finally felt like myself again. Even though it was hard to forget that boy, I accepted it. He was my crush now. Yes he really was my crush.
