Savannah She watched me with red-rimmed eyes. Slowly, the tears she had tried so hard to trap began to fall. I’d never seen anyone cry like that. Her shoulders trembled. Something had broken deep inside her and she was powerless to stop the collapse. Just moments ago, she had sliced me open with every word, peeled back my skin with accusations and truth I couldn’t deny. And now, in the same breath, she crumpled in front of me like a house of cards finally giving up its fight against the wind. Her sobs were broken that came from somewhere too deep to explain.
