Xavier My eyelids felt like iron shutters. I fought to open them, but they were impossibly heavy. Each attempt was a battle I was losing. Why did everything feel off? I was lying on a bed, that much I knew. But breathing didn’t feel right. I tried again to open my eyes. This time, a blurry world swam into view. A beeping sound came from nearby.
