Sasha An hour later, another nurse came in. This one had a bland expression, holding out a paper cup with pills. “Time for your afternoon medication.” I turned my face away. The nurse sighed, acting like she was talking to a child. “Come on, ma'am, you know you have to take it. Doctor’s orders. It’s on your schedule.” “Damn your schedule!” I snapped. “And leave me the hell alone. I’ll take the medication when my mother gets here.” She looked at me like I was a spoiled toddler throwing a tantrum. She placed the cup on my bedside table and left.
