Sophia's POV. "Father, don't tell me you got into another debt?" I questioned, trying to stay calm and ignore the weight of his threat. Although I was shocked because my father had never threatened to disown me before, I didn't want him to be indebted to someone else. It took so long for Alessandro and I to settle our differences. I couldn't imagine doing that with anyone else. "I didn't!" he blurted out, but I refused to believe him. How was he so confident about repaying the debt if he hadn't done something fishy? "Father, the last thing I want is you getting yourself in trouble," I muttered worriedly. I believed I needed something to calm him or he would remain desperate, thinking he was saving both of us. "Alessandro gave us more time, you don't have to worry," I lied, smoothly.
