4. The story (1)

Josh Garel’s POV:

I was surprised that Mr. Fox wanted to talk to me and even more surprised when he was completely calm over the phone. He asked me for a favor, and that was keeping his daughter safe, I knew I can play with him and refuse, but I wasn’t a filthy person who attacks in such situations.

After our fight he said I am not allowed to see his daughter again and she even don’t want to see me.

We fought for basic rules of our business. I used to work with him and one time he asked me to sign and transfer a d**g deal, and I didn’t help him, he trusted me so much and I let him down, or to be exact he let me down.

Our basic rules were to prevent and back off to anything illegal, but he went and signed a deal with one of our enemies, that’s when I knew that I’ve been fooled with him, I thought he was a very good person but turns out to be the exact opposite.

Yeah, I killed some people so did he but I never touched an innocent person.

After agreeing on taking care of his girl, I hung up the phone.

“you’re going to stay here with me” I said looking at her, she seemed as shocked as I was.

Her father clearly was in big trouble.

“I understood that” I said “but why? Don’t you think it’s a little weird? plus staying here with you is like hell. Is my father trying to punish me?” I said dramatically.

“oh believe little girl this is not my heaven either. But seems like you have to adapt, your father was in deep sh*t. I wouldn’t be surprised.”

“what do you mean by that” her mood clearly changing.

“I mean your father deserves this” I said coldly.

“hoe dare you?! You stupid...” before she finished her phrase, I saw I fast fist coming to my face.

“aww” I yelled.

“now you deserve this. Don’t you dare talk about my father like that another time.”

“well daddy’s princess, that’s my house so I can talk whatever I want” I stated “and hey remember, now that you’re going to stay, you’re living under my rules. It ain’t daddy’s kingdom anymore.” I teased slapping the door behind me and going up to my office.

Entering my office, all I could’ve done is throw myself on the couch next to my desk, thinking about the situation I am in.

I couldn’t go back to New York at the planned time. I need to put a plan to protect her, now that she’s targeted by the most dangerous group in the U.S, her father ruined a very big d**g deal foe them, so they’re after him and his daughter now.

He can pay them though but of course, but he doesn’t have enough after the big economy crisis he has been through.

After I left him, I started my own path, my belongings were far less than his so I couldn’t help in anyway but keep his daughter safe. No one is going to guess that she’s here.

But how could I stay with her, I hated her. From a word from her father, I turned from the person that trusts and loved the most to a complete stranger. She did cut deep in my heart.

Getting up from the couch sitting on the chair to continue the work I left behind, I couldn’t stop myself from thinking about her. I messaged Jack to take her to my room after I left. She must be showering now.

I needed to get the files from there, let’s hope she’s still showering because I don’t want to see her. I got up the stairs to my room opening the door slowly and peeking inside, I didn’t see her, fortunately she was showering I can hear the sound of the water from the door.

I opened my drawer took the file and was about to get back when her little figure came from the bathroom door, a towel wrapped around her body, covering just to mid-thigh.

I found my self observing her, her light brown wavy hair all wet coming to her shoulder, her face so red she must love showering with hot water, her muscular legs showing in a beautiful tanned way.

“it’s good you’re here. I have nothing to wear” she said. ‘do you even have to wear something’ I thought.

“you can find anything from my closet, I’ll shop for you when we get back to New York” I removed my eyes from her leaving the room.

‘Now you have to forget what you saw Josh’ I cursed under my breath.

This was a big mistake, she will be the end of me, and I don’t like what I feel.

I need to put a plan and try to dodge her as much as I can.
