Jenna flipped the indicator lever and eased over to the left-hand lane of the motorway before crossing over into the slip road for the service station. She thought it best to fill up with petrol as the indicator was nearing the quarter-full mark, and she certainly did not want to end up being stranded in the middle of nowhere. Also, she needed some strong coffee. Long drives always made her feel sleepy, and considering how restless her night had been, she needed all the help she could get to stay alert. Having finished her phone call the previous evening with the police sergeant and then crying for the best part of fifteen minutes, Jenna had reprimanded herself for not taking more control over the situation.
