Alec A week had passed since I told Lena to leave her room, and that was the last time I laid my eyes on her. At first, I didn't feel her presence. The pack house ran efficiently without her, no calm voice reminding me of past schedules and ceremonies that I ought to attend. I sat behind my desk, staring at the same batch of papers without understanding a thing for hours. The reports lay stacked on top of each other neatly and the seals were unbroken. The council wanted updates on the east and west side of the pack, the elders wanted reassurance, the pack members wanted safety from their Alpha and my father wanted an heir. And my thoughts kept trailing back to the woman who had not stepped foot into my office for a week which was very unlikely of her. Lena always came, she had done so
