Julian's body seemed to freeze.
Even the gentle expression on his face stiffened.
Maybe he had imagined I would be overjoyed.
But he had never imagined I would reject him so casually.
"Work can't be finished in a day or two. Three meals a day are still important."
Julian rarely showed this much patience as he tried to persuade me to eat on time.
"I'm not hungry."
I looked up at him and smiled.
"I had some dessert this afternoon."
Seeing that my attitude was calm and that I did not seem to be rejecting him on purpose, Julian's expression softened a little.
"Fine. Then I'll go home and take care of Lila first. Don't stay too late."
After saying that, Julian left.
I turned my attention back to the documents in my hands.
