The front door creaked open before Priscilla could even knock. “Pris!” Sarah’s voice wobbled somewhere between surprise and exhaustion. She pulled her into a tight hug. “You didn’t have to come all the way.” Priscilla gave a soft smile, pulling back just enough to study Sarah’s face. “Of course I did. How could I not? I’ve been worried sick since it all happened. I’m just so glad Reina’s back.” Sarah’s eyes shimmered slightly. “Me too. God, me too. Come in, come in.” Priscilla stepped inside, eyes automatically scanning the living room. Familiar decor, same floral curtains… but something hung in the air now. Heaviness.
