Chapter 2 – Baby You're Perfect

1754 Words
ALDRIC’S POV Liam is driving, or more accurately, he is pushing my car to its limits, trying to get me to the pack doctor before I die. The silver from the knife blade has created a chemical reaction around and inside the incision that burns like hell. The wolfsbane coating from the blade is poisoning my blood, but also my wolf, keeping him incapacitated. But the only thing I care about is my mate. My perfect mate, who happens to still be out cold. The small scratch on her cheek has finally stopped bleeding, but there is still a tiny amount of dried blood. I will find that wolf bastard and kill him, his sidekicks, maybe even his whole f*****g pack. Goddess, she is perfect, and I want her to wake up. When Liam picked her up to carry her to my car, I wanted to tear his limbs off. She is mine, and my possessiveness over her is so intense that my wolf was fighting against the wolfsbane to protect her. I’ve heard the stories of possessiveness; hell, Liam, Colton, and I have been called out for many altercations where a wolf was close to going feral because another wolf walked too close to his mate. We used to chuckle at the possessive wolf while calming him down, thinking we would never get that bad. And yet, my wolf wanted to kill one of my best friends for helping her. Galina had gotten me into the backseat and propped me up into a position that was as comfortable as I was going to get. For an old witch, she is stronger than I would have thought. We had already taken my shirt off and used it to put pressure on my wound. Not being able to see Liam or my mate set my wolf off, and he tried to gain control again. Right as Liam popped into sight with her in his arms, my wolf lost his battle with the wolfsbane, and although he was still alive, I could hear him whimpering as Liam gently laid my mate next to me. Her body naturally rolled into mine, fitting perfectly, her head resting on my chest, her long blond hair cascading down her face, covering the bruising and swelling. I inhaled deeply, taking in her natural scent and the mixture of her shampoo, which instantly calmed my wolf. I heard him let out a small whimper; that was the last I had felt of him. It is impossible for me to look away from her. Perfection is the only word I can think of to describe her accurately. Her skin is like porcelain, soft and creamy, with light freckles that make me want to kiss each one individually and dark lashes that are a stark contrast to her fair complexion. Natural pouty lips that are a light pink begging to be kissed and nibbled on. As if answering to my will, her eyes slightly flutter, her lips barely open, and she takes in a deep breath; on the exhale, she licks her lips glossing them over, and at the last moment, she sucks her bottom lip in and gently bites it. “f*****g hell, Baby, you are perfect!” BREELYNN Pain. So much pain. Am I moving? I am moving. Come on, Breelynn, open your eyes; you can do it. ‘Trina, are you there? What happened?’ Trina is uncharacteristically quiet. Getting a hold of myself, I take a deep breath, my lips are dry, and instinctively I moisten them. “f*****g hell, Baby, you are perfect!” Pure fear causes me to force my eyes open, and I am not at all certain of what I am looking at or where I am. It takes me a few moments to recognize that I am in the back seat of a car and resting my head on a man's bare chest. Moving too quickly, I pull up from his chest, the pain radiates down from my cheek, and the headache I feel is causing waves of nausea. Get ahold of your senses, Breelynn. This is the moment I realize the dangerous situation I am in. I don’t recognize the driver at all, and he is intensely focused on driving like a speed demon down a two-lane road. The crazy old lady from the farmers market is in the passenger seat, staring straight ahead. Next to me, bleeding to death, is the man I was using as a pillow, who just happens to be beyond gorgeous. Wait…what? NO! ‘TRINA!?’ Tring to find anything that looks familiar, I am desperately looking out the windows, but we are driving down a country road surrounded by woods. My heart starts pounding, and I swear it will leap out of my chest. I feel a hand on my shoulder, and I turn my head back to the gorgeous guy who doesn’t seem at all worried that he is bleeding. “It’s okay, baby, you're safe.” His words echo in my head as if they are supposed to make sense. He gently pulls me back to his chest and holds me tightly. Strangely enough, this seems to calm me. Hearing that I am awake, the driver and the older lady look back at us. Taking his eyes off the road, he hits a pothole and jars us both in the back. The guy I am leaning on grunts out in pain, and I am not sure, but I think the cloth just got even redder. “Sorry, Alpha,” the driver declares apologetically as he looks back at the road. “I already linked Dr. Kris, and they are waiting, ready to go.” “I’m hurting you?” and taking the opportunity, I try to get up from him. He just pulled me tighter to him, and I swear he took a deep breath and smelled my hair. “Not at all, baby; you are actually keeping me calm. Please don’t leave me.” His fingertips drawing small circles on my upper arm is oddly keeping me relaxed as well. Clearly, I should be freaking out right now, but part of me feels safe and almost like this is where I am supposed to be. Maybe having a crazy lady living in my head for all these years has me numb to craziness. “So, your name is Alpha?” The guys laugh at my question, and I instantly feel like the butt of an inside joke. It’s not a feeling I like, so I push off the injured man, who looks instantly confused. “How hard did he hit you, baby?” The way he says baby and looks at me causes my heart to flutter and my breath to hitch just a bit. His eyes are honey brown with golden flecks and are warm and consuming. Staring into them ignites a smoldering heat in my core that I have never felt before. I gaze down his straight nose, drawing my attention to his mouth—holy mother of...his lips. I just want to lick them, maybe even nibble on them a little. f**k, he looks so delicious, and I want to kiss him and see if he tastes as good as he looks. The smoldering in my core has increased and is now a full-on fire. I need to put distance between us, or else I am going to kiss him. Yes, I will end up kissing a complete stranger who is bleeding to death in the backseat of some random guy’s car. Now, I am beginning to question my sanity and wonder how hard that other guy actually hit me. Pushing past my desire, I force myself to sit up and now get a full view of him. It’s like I am seeing him for the first time. Everything about him is chiseled. His ripped eight-pack which is unfortunately bleeding, the defined chest and pecs that beg to be worshiped by my lips, and his face. I swear he was created from my dreams, built to design from fantasies I didn’t even know existed. Being able to read my lust, he puts his thumb on my mouth and pinches my bottom lip with it and the knuckle of his forefinger, “f**k, the way you look at me; if you want me that bad, baby, take me, I won’t ever stop you. His ego pisses me off, I feel the softness in my face tense up, but before I have a chance to respond to his ridiculous statement, he pulls our heads together and rests his forehead on mine. The moment is serene, flipping my emotions again; how many different feelings have I had in the last five minutes? This guy has me all over the place, and for some unknown reason, I find myself never wanting it to end. Enjoying the closeness and intimacy, something I have never experienced before, I take a deep breath and can almost smell a scent that makes me feel like I am in love. But it is gone just as quickly as it came. As I am about to ask if he can smell it as well, he whispers to me, “I love your green eyes, even when you’re glaring at me.” With that, his eyes roll back in his head, his arms fall flat, and the hand holding the bloody rag in place, which I am now guessing was his shirt, has fallen to the side, releasing the pressure. Blood is gushing out. Without thinking about it, I grab the rag and put pressure back on it. “Hurry, your friend just passed out!” “We’re here,” the driver shouts; his adrenaline must be raging right now. He whips the car around and comes to a slamming stop in front of a medium three-story building with the words Crescent Falls Medical Clinic encased in a sign above a set of glass double doors, and waiting at the doors are who I would imagine are doctors and nurses. In a matter of seconds, and what seemed like a blur, the car was surrounded by people helping to get him out onto a gurney and into the white building. Everyone followed them, and I realized at that moment I was alone. Taking the risk, I used this opportunity to escape. No one noticed, so it was effortless to get away but also alarmingly hard to leave the beautiful stranger who kept calling me baby.
