⚜️ Z A R A H P O V ⚜️I groaned, sitting upon the soft mattress under me and rubbing my eyes, trying to adjust to the light. I looked around at my unfamiliar surroundings.
Where the hell am I? How did I get here? The last thing I remember was eating something that mom cooked then fainting in Ahmed's arm.
Wait, Ahmed? Where is he? Is he alright?
"Ahmed?" I screamed out his name, praying that he will hear me. Jumping out of bed, I opened the door. Before I can run down the stairs, strong manly hands wrapped around my waist, pulling me back. My body shook in fear as my eyes widened.
"No! No!" I yelled, throwing my leg in the air, trying to pry myself off, "let me go!"
"Shh! I got you," a familiar voice spoke that belonged to Ahmed. His soft voice calmed my body down; I relaxed my body against his. I spun around and hugged him tightly. Fear hit me as I sobbed on his shoulder.
"Shh, sweetheart, I got you. Nothing's gonna happens to you. I promised," Ahmed pledged, stroking my long brown hair.
"I am scared. I thought someone took me. Where are we?" I questioned, looking around my surrounding Ahmed
"New York," he answered, putting his hand under my knees and the other hand on my back, picking me up like bride style.
"What? Why? Where are mom and dad? What about everyone else," I inquire, putting my hand around his neck.
"They are somewhere in this country. You don't need to worry about them right now," Ahmed answered, pushing the door open with his foot.
"Tell me the truth," I look at the start into his eyes.
"You need your rest right now. Don't think about it too much," he strictly said, laying me down on the bed.
"Why don't you just tell me that you took me away from my only family," I yelled.
"Then why are you asking if you already know?" he snapped at me.
"I hate you! Why can't you just leave me alone? I was fine over there." I repeatedly punched his chest, even though nothing happened.
"Just go to bed," he pushed me down on the bed.
"No! I don't want to," I argued back, pushing him away with all my might.
"Zarah," he warned.
"Go away! Leave me alone," I threw a pillow at him.
"Fine!" he yelled before storming out the room, not glancing back at me once.
I know I might have overreacted, but he can't just do that to me. They are my family, and they mean everything to me. They are the only family I always ever wanted, not the family that I had. Who disowned me because of my father's property.
Bringing my knee up to my chest, I started to think. Think about how much my life has changed. My family, who cared about me, came back to me. My grandma came back to me. I got a husband who is very arrogant and hotheaded too.
He has an anger issue, and I totally understand that. Yet, he can't always have his way in life. Ahmed needs to understand people's wishes and what they want in life.
Like they say, talking about the devil, he shall appear. He entered the room, changed into different clothes—a V-neck gray color shirt with pocket pants. I can feel him stare at me the whole time, not uttering a single word. It was as if he was trying a way to kill me in his brain.
I finally dared to look up and couldn't help but gap on how cold his stare was. With those eyes, he can kill anyone he wants. I gulp down and watch him take several slow steps toward me.
⚜️ 3 R D P O V ⚜️She cleaned her teeth and forced her into a tight fist. The anger in her eyes fueled away. Her granddaughter was missing; she couldn't do anything about it, but she was damn sure about finding her precious granddaughter. Even if it means killing anyone that gets in the way.
She sat on the chair with her legs crossed. Two muscular men stood next to her chair as she stared at the person in front of her. She interlocked her finger together.
"Where is she?" question the lady in a terrifying voice that no one wants to mess around with.
"I don't know what you are talking about," the girl answered back.
"Sofia, Sofia, Sofia," she chanted, getting up from her seat. "I want to know where my granddaughter is, and you are going to tell me where she is."
"I really don't know where they are. I swear," Sofia shook her head.
"They?"
"My brother came back from work after a week or so. That day, he came home in a bit hurry. It was as if he had something fundamental. The next thing I know is that they are gone," she explained before muttering under her breath, “they left without a goodbye too!”
"How do I know that you are not lying?" she looked at Sofia suspiciously.
"I can call my brother right now," she offered.
"Dial his number," she ordered, going back to her original seat.
Taking her phone out, she called her brother. Sofia put the phone on speaker so everyone can hear their conversation. Sofia knows better than to call her brother when he doesn't want to be disturb.
'Hey bro,' she greeted him.
'What's wrong?' he asked, getting straight to the point.
'Nothing, I just want to know where you guys are,' she lied.
'Why?"
'Be-because, so I can meet you when I fell alone,' she lied once again. Sofia clenched her eyes tight, hating that she had to lie to him.
Ahmed knows his sister better than anyone; he isn't stupid to know that someone was with her this very minute. Whenever she lies or is nervous, she always stuttered, and that's how he catches her. He wasn't going to tell her where they are because it's for her own good.
'You don't need to worry about that,’ he smiled.
'But bro,' she whined.
'Don't you have to study to do? Get back to studying. And tell the person not worry about it,' he hung up the phone.
"Smart kid. He knows what he is doing. But not smart enough. I'm leaving for now, but if anything happens to my granddaughter, I will come back and hunt every single one of you," she threatened, then walked away.
"Who was that?" questioned Sofia's little brother.
"Zarah's grandmother," she answered, not looking away from the exit.
"What did she want?" he asked.
"Don't you have school homework to do? Go, do your homework. This is a conversation between elders," she snapped, glaring at him.
"Go do your homework," he mocked her, sticking his tongue at her before running away from her.
"Annoying little brat," mumbled Sofia under her breath. She slammed down on the bed, feeling exhausted from all this drama.
“I swear my family can produce a whole ass drama series with multiple episodes,” she whispered, shaking her head.
