The mountains rise like jagged teeth against the night sky, black silhouettes cutting into the moonlight. Even in my male form, even with power humming under my skin, the sight of Peter Dever’s hidden facility makes something cold coil in my gut so tight it hurts.
This is where Stella is being held captive, having Goddess only knows what done to her.
This is just like the place where I had once been broken.

It felt like we left Gray Shadows’ land and reached our destination in a second! That probably was all it took. I should have been surprised, but I wasn’t. I was surprised by the smooth landing, however.
