Helena Three months. Three long, grueling, frustrating, beautiful months. River had cried, screamed, meditated, collapsed, tried again, and kept going. Most people would have quit by now. Most Demigods would have quit by now. But River Dalgaard was made of something rarer, something stubborn and bright and unbreakable. There had been days when I thought River would break.
