“Why the f**k did the plans not go through? Why do you all always have to disappoint me? Why is it so difficult to put a bullet through his skull?”
Damian was furious that his plan to kill his brother had failed yet again. He had been trying to snuff life out of him for so long but for some reason, he kept slipping through their fingers. They had even tried to come at him as a group after messing with his car. They had tinkered with his fuel gauge and tyres while he was at a meeting and the plan was that when he came down to check what was wrong with it, they were going to first beat him up before killing him. They were ready and armed with clubs and bats but like always, he had run away and lived to tell the story. He was like a cat with nine lives that could not be killed and Damien was getting tired of the chase. He hated James with every drop of blood in his veins and did not plan to rest until he had him 6 feet under the earth where he belonged.
“You call yourselves a gang when you can’t do something as simple as this? Since when did killing someone becomes such an impossible task?”
He bellowed as he slammed a hand on the wall nearest to him. His gang members were all standing on a floor below him with their heads bowed. He knew that they all bore matching scowls on their faces because they had again failed him. He was not going to let their incompetence go just like that but before dishing their punishments out, he had something else that he needed to do. Information had reached him that James was in the know about their hideout and that spelt serious trouble for him and the rest of his gang. He knew that James was not going to hesitate in involving the law enforcement agencies to get him arrested and locked up in jail. He did not want to wait around with his arms folded, waiting for him to come knock down his door.
“Pack up. We’re moving to the alley”
The alley was a code word among them for another hide out. Anyone who had gone through the initiation process and pledged their life to the gang knew what alley meant. He didn’t have to spell it out for any of them. When none of them moved but only looked among themselves with shock written on their faces, he had to slap the one nearest to him upside down on the head. Then, the rest of them sprung into action and started picking up crates that contained their possessions as a gang into the vans that they had stationed outside. The reason why they were shocked that they were going to the alley was because it was a last resort situation. The alley was only gone to when the threat that was over them was far more than they could handle and they needed extra security. It was located on the outskirts of town and had a watch tower where they could look down from and see any trespassers that were gunned down before they even had the opportunity to come close.
“Hurry the f**k up, you idiots”
He was still so annoyed that his plans had fallen through yet again and was looking for a way to release his anger. He was tempted to release it on his gang members who were way too slowly for his liking but held himself back for two reasons. One was that he needed their manpower for various reasons and he couldn’t afford to get more members at such critical time. Second was that they did not understand the kind of threat that was posed by James knowing the location of their hide out. It was very possible that the law enforcement agencies were on their way to them already especially with the recent attack that may have ticked him off even more. Damien needed more time to restrategise and come up with an impenetrable plan that was going to take his brother, James out of his Life and existence for good. He uncapped the bottle of whiskey that was on his table and brought it to his lips. He chugged straight from the bottle and slammed it back down on the table. He grimaced as the heat of the drink burned his throat and hit his stomach. Then, he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand before walking over to a box that was on the opposite side of the room. He opened it and brought out a gun which he turned this way and that under the light, admiring it because was the latest gift he had given to himself only a few days ago. He brought it to his lips and kissed it as he imagined the nozzle on his brother’s head. He was delirious with the image of James on his knees as he played with the gun. He was going to first, take off the safety very slowly to scare him and just when he had let his guard down, he was going to pull the trigger but he wasn’t going to let the bullet hit anywhere that was going to kill him immediately. No, he was going to drag out his pain and make him beg for death for all the stress he out him through. For making him have to try multiple times before getting him where he wanted, he was going to first shoot him in the limbs and watch him bleed as he writhed in pain. Just when he was begging for death, he was going to take a seat in front of him and push his fingers into his wounds while he enjoyed his screams. He smiled because he knew that those screams were going to be like music to his ears. When he felt like he had reached his threshold and was about to pass out, he was going to stitch his wounds and then lodge two other bullets in the lower abdomen and back and watch as he bled to death. Damien was still lost in his fantasy when his phone rang, rudely bringing him back to consciousness.
“What?”
He spoke into the phone without even looking at the caller ID. It was Adrianna on the phone. As she began to talk, another mental image came into his mind. She began to tell him about how much some specific body parts missed him and how much she craved his touch. As she spoke, his frown deepened because he could feel his body getting hot. He knew how sensual Adrianna was and what would have been happening if he was not caught up in his duties as the gang leader. He was even more irritated when she started asking where he was and what he was doing. She even went ahead as to ask him to please come back because she was missing him so much. Damien was partly irritated and amused that she could beg in that manner. He told her that he was on a business trip and they continued to talk on the phone with him directing the conversation into something more s****l. She kept on asking what kind of business trip he was on but Damien was soon able to take her mid away from it as he spoke dirtier to her. Adrianna who had been so sexually frustrated with her boyfriend not satisfying her in the way she wanted soon forgot her line of reasoning and thoughts, carried away by all that he was saying to her on the phone.
