The Alpha's Dream Mate

Summit Friday pt 2

Eislyn.

Coming into the great dining hall was a mess the Auras of the Alphas were radiating. The energy was a bit intense. Especially not being able to concentrate with Accalia pacing in my mind. I spotted my brother’s tall frame and saw Casey across from him. Adir had a possessive grip on Maikiah’s waist. I could see two other people in the group but I couldn’t tell who.

Suddenly a hand grabbed my arm. It was none other than douche dog one and two. Removing my arm from the Alpha’s grasp, I stepped back widening my stance just enough in case I needed to attack.

“Excuse me, please don’t touch me without permission,” I said with a pointed stare and a firm voice.

“Whoa! Chill babe, let's start over I’m Alpha Lance of the Clearwater Pack and this is my Beta Simon,” he said to me pointing to an above-average-looking guy who was giving me an unseemly look, so disgusting.

“I’m not interested” I glared at him, “ But, I haven’t offered anything yet” he stated. “Alpha Lance if you’re offering me anything along the lines of what your actions displayed in the elevator I promise you we have nothing further to discuss” His confident smirk faltered just a bit. He’s not used to being told No. Well, I couldn't care less.

“If you excuse me I have to get to my pack, I stated sternly” I guess quickly realizing I wasn’t worth the hassle or embarrassment, he let me pass. Or so I thought he was going to, then he slightly stepped in my way just enough that we almost collided. “ Can I at least get the pretty lady's name?”, I arched my eyebrow, “ Yarrow” I stated. With that, I bulldozed past him and his Beta. Letting my own Alpha aura seep out of me.

I may not be the future Alpha, but I’m very much my father’s daughter, and that power he and Adir radiate, I can very much exude that power when I want, they looked stunned. I smirked and walked off. Quickly waving to a few of my father’s Allies and casually brushing off advances. Then, a tangy and warm smell hit me. It almost smelt comforting like being home or under your favorite tree, reading your favorite book. The smell was like bergamot and something else. Something I couldn’t quite place. Then I saw him, this dream of a man talking to my brother and standing next to Casey. Oh boy, you got to play this cool. Then he looked at Adir, with a confused expression on his face. He was so beautiful, it made me want to paint him, among other things.

From what I could make out this man had light tan skin. Black silky hair, that was currently in a low man bun, but by the size you could tell he had a lot of hair. He had to be about 6’3 or 6’4 he wasn’t much shorter than my brother. He had on black slacks that were just tight enough to see how powerful his thighs were. And in his dark gray button-down was being stretched by his massive shoulders and biceps. My goddess talk about beefy, I just know his ass and abs are flawless. Wait! What am I thinking, I’m just sexualizing this man up, I don’t even know him. As the thought passed through my mind, the scent became stronger. It was bergamot and vetiver. A combination of fresh grass and citrus with an undertone of smokey wood, it was amazing. And then he looked at me and his chocolate brown eyes were on mine. That’s right, mine! Accalia started howling and panting. Mate?.

“Mate”, came from his mouth in a sexy low growl and deep raspy voice.

Adir-

“Mate”? I looked at my sister and my new ally and I was taken aback. This whole time I’ve known her mate. Wow! What a surprise. Then the reality hit me my sister’s Mate, is Ezra Akana the Alpha of the Moon Rock pack. Wow, the real surprise, is that I had originally planned to absorb that pack into our own until I realized, the new Alpha had been Ezra.

I had only known of his uncle the former Alpha Eugene, and Edmond who I know now to be his father. When Eugene’s second daughter was mated to an Alpha, he was out of heirs. I had assumed since he was ill, he would hand his pack over to his brother. That simply wouldn’t do, Edmond was a downright snake and evil man. I honestly thought he had a hand in his brother’s death. I assume Alpha Eugene, wasn’t too keen on his brother running his pack either. Upon his death, the elders showed up at the pack and announced Ezra as the new Alpha in place of his father. I heard they performed his ceremony right then to transition the power of Alpha and the title, It wasn’t all pomp and circumstance, like most Alpha and Luna ceremonies but it got the job done.

Honestly, I had only met him a handful of times at my wrestling matches in high school. He instantly had a cool vibe though a bit standoff-ish. He just was a broody type I found surprisingly refreshing from all the douchebag Alpha’s kids. Or even the nepo kids related to the Alpha or some high rank but no actual real power. So when I found out he was the new Alpha at Moon Rock, I brought it to my father’s attention that I was interested in a partnership with that pack instead of a hostel takeover.

Then it hit me. “ Wait! Hold up, you thought Lenny was my girlfriend?” They were gazing into each other’s eyes like lost dogs who found home. Did they even hear me?

“What?” she said. I guess she did hear me. Her face was all turned up with a disapproving mask. I guess hearing about her dating her brother, snapped Lyn right out of her mate trance. Grabbing the back of his neck Ezra looked so embarrassed. But before he could say anything. Everyone turned their head towards a pissed-off growl from a pissed-off Casey who slammed his glass down and stormed off. Smacking my forehead. I sat my drink down to follow after him.

“ Hold that thought guys, let me check on him. Maikiah had a worried look on her face as she stared at Eislyn. That’s the second time she’s looked like that, what does she know that I don’t?

Chasing after Casey, I caught up to him he had made it to the side gardens. It was beautiful out here and empty, thank goddess cause I had a feeling this was going to be a majorly uncomfortable conversation between brothers.

“ Hey man what’s your deal, we’re at the summit for the first time on our own, and you're breaking things, for what?, because Eislyn found her mate?... "REALLY” I know this might be a bit harsh but we have a reputation to maintain in this moment I’m Alpha first, friend second.

He just looks at me and with tears in his eyes, "s**t," I sigh, and I start to rein in my aura. I might have to approach this situation differently. Casey is a lot of things, and a crier isn’t one of them.

Walking over to him I put my hand on his shoulder. “ Look man, I’m sorry for my brashness, explain to me, man, what’s wrong?, I mean I know you have a crush on Lyn… but” he cut me off.

“ A Crush? A F**king crush, yeah maybe at 12. I’m in love with her man” staring at him with wide eyes I had no clue it was that deep.

“You know what forget it man it's my problem, I’ll deal with it” he tried to walk off, but I stopped him placing my hand on his chest, keeping him still. “No. You’re my Beta and I love you like a brother let me help”

“ I love her, and I know it’s wrong and unfair to both of us. But I can’t help it. I see her and everything is right in the world. The woman hasn’t even given me the time of day, until…” he drifted off. Then he looked at me with a questioning look like he wasn’t sure if he should continue he began again.“ today in the elevator some boneheadad Alpha and his Beta started giving her s*x eyes, but I dealt with it.”

I could feel my annoyance flicker close to my chest. Who was this Alpha and did he have a death wish?, but that’s not the point so I let him finish.

“When they got off the elevator, she was close. Man, so close and it felt perfect” he rambled on and, I still feel that flicker. Trying to stay calm I nodded for him to continue.

“ She offered me a chance. Just one chance. But with the stipulation, that I’d let her go” he said looking downcast. “And I agreed man, I kissed her, like my life depended on it and I knew that I agreed to let her go. But she felt so good, in my arms, I knew I couldn’t.”

Trying not to show how f*****g awkward this conversation was becoming. I let him finish. “ Go on”. I nodded.

“ Please dude, I know this is awkward, but I love your sister. I want to be her chosen mate. Her everything, because she’s already mine. And that kiss, hmm, that kiss sealed it for me. I honestly don’t think I could look at another woman again. Or even have these feelings for another ”

He was looking at me pleading like I was Selene herself. What the f**k am I supposed to do. What I do know is all Eislyn had to do was keep her mouth to herself and I wouldn’t be dealing with this.

“Casey. Brother, she just found her mate. I said to him sorrowful. Listen I know that’s not what you want to hear, but he is her destined mate. And you’ve been with plenty of other women. Trust me when your mate comes along Eislyn will seem like a blip in your universe.”

Shaking his head. “ Yeah, I’ve been with other women and I lost everyone comparing them to your sister, or calling out her name in arguments, hell even s*x once or twice”.

Ok, now this is too much for me. “ Casey brother, I love you, and I want you to be happy truly, but we all have our own destined paths and people. I think Eislyn is in your life to be a great friend, but that’s it. And you said it yourself man she told you it would only be one kiss and you accepted the terms. Look man, I don’t expect years of feelings to fade in a matter of minutes, especially after getting the kiss of a lifetime”. It was so gross to say that. “So stay out here as long as you need to cool your nerves. And when you come back I don’t want you making and drama for Eislyn. Because if you love her like you say you do you’ll put her first.”

I put both my hands on his shoulders and stare at him intently so he knows I’m f**king serious. “ I will, I can…”. He adjusts his jacket and nods, and I leave him to his thoughts.

Walking back to the dining hall I’m fuming, what would possess Eislyn after all these years, to cross that line with Casey? Making my way through the doors I see everyone is seated. I take my seat between Lyn and Maikiah. Eislyn begins to shift uncomfortably, I guess she knows that I know. Now is not the time, but we will be discussing about this.
