14. Escape

RAYA'S POV :
What the hell just happened?! One second I'm staring at my so-called Grandfather, the next explosions, then he is yelling in my head to leave Now!
Mum didn't even question him! And she questions everything! So grateful for the Mate bond as Archie stayed by my side or right behind me the whole time. Why was he so angry Draco was here?
After she looked at Draco and nodded her head she told Papa to bring Andrew and Miles into the office. She opened the portal telling Papa, Archie, Maximus, Andrew, Miles and I, we all needed to leave right now.
They all just nodded.
Mum opened the portal and we all went through.
We stepped out onto a beach, Mum went through first followed my Papa, the body guards, then me followed by Archie holding my hand. I stared at him following me, he looks up sensing my eyes on him and smiles gently with a cheeky wink. Not so little sod knows he's gorgeous! My thoughts are drifting then interrupted by Maximus,
"Where are we?", he asked.
"Holy Island", she replied.
"Why Holy Island?" I asked her, taking in the landscape. It is truly beautiful here as I turned taking in the surroundings. I feel like it is familiar.
"Because Vampires cannot step foot on Holy land. It's earth and waters surrounding the island have been blessed, and Draco has put a shield around that boundary for extra protection", she replied simply. Like it was just common knowledge!
"Okaayyyy, now what then?" I asked. I have so many questions, I hope Mum and Papa are ready for a grilling!
She turned waving her hand and pointed to a small beach cottage.
That wasn't there a second ago when I was looking around!
Damn, my Mumma got skills!!
"We'll be staying here til we know it's safe",She said, "no one can see the cottage, I've put a spell around us, so no one will hear or see us. We can see and hear them but nothing the other way around".
That's reassuring!
Once we'd all got into the cottage, it was like a different atmosphere. Very calm and cosy. Taking in the space inside, it was deceiving from the outside.
To the right there were 3 bedrooms, 2 upstairs and 1 downstairs. Outside of the lower floor bedroom was a lounge area. Infront of you, as you walk through the front door, is a kitchen against the far wall with Island bench with bar chairs. To the left is a dining area and behind that another bedroom and bathroom. I ran towards that bedroom that looks towards the beach we just came from and looks over the sea.
"Dibs on this room!! Snooze you lose suckers!! Ha ha! " I yelled as I ran towards it. Mum laughed. Papa stood there shaking his head chuckling and the body guards standing behind Papa with amused smiles on their faces.
I entered the bedroom and it was all soft colours. A large white four poster bed with white drapery. In the corner is a little bassinett and a toddler bed. Weird. The other side under the window was a soft white love seat.
I thought mum just magic-upped this place but it looks like these things make it a home. I wonder if the owner knows we're crashing here. Mum is a little shifty, so you never know!
I was looking around then walking to the French windows that overlooked the beach I hear movement behind me. I turned to see mum watching me curiously... I smiled.
It's been a few months since I saw her last, so it's nice to see her face, regardless of the circumstances.
Papa has been the only constant in my life since I was a teenager. Mum always trying to please Ben. He was never happy.Hes a whole load of nasty.
She smiles and sits down on the bed looking to the toddler bed, then bassinet with tears in her eyes. I rushed over and sat next to her on the bed, "mum we'll be ok", I said.
She turns to me holding my face looking into my eyes with a sad smile.
"We owe you so many answers my precious girl", Mum says and I nod.
I want to be a b***h and demand answers like a spoilt brat, but I have a feeling this goes beyond whichever way I may be involved.
She looks around the room, almost lovingly, she looks up to me, "this used to be our room, with your Papa." Um, okay...I don't know what to say so I just keep staring at her. Feeling awkward. Weird much?!
A light knock on the door and Papa pokes his head in.
"I think it's time for an explanation", I nod and say, "Yes, a lifetime of one".
They both still and look at each other,
"hu hum?!" I clear my throat. Get the hint and get on with it!
They look at each other again and Papa nods his head to mum as he walks over and sits on the floor infront of mum...wooo she has him whipped!
Mum starts, "We're mates Raya. Fated mates", Um...what?!
"Then why the hell-" I start
"Let me tell you everything, then you can ask questions ok?" I nod and she continues,
"Papa and I met when we just turned 20, there was a meeting between the Rulers of all the tribes. The Werewolves, Witches, Werebears, Werelions, and Fae. All were coming together to work against the Vampires. Well not the vamp exactly, more so against the Vamipre King.
He had been causing devastation amongst all our worlds and we needed him gone.
"At this meeting, is where I met my mate, your Papa. However my father and Papa's father had already made a peace pact that I was to marry Ben because he was the eldest son of the Alpha King and I was eldest daughter of the Chief Warlock. To strengthen both our coven and the Cresent Moon Pack.
"I met Papa before I knew about this arrangement. While it was being planned actually. We spent the first night together which is how you came along.
The next day at the meeting we told our parents that we were mates and Ben lost it. He declared treason against your Papa and told him if he didn't leave, he would kill him. Ben saying that was treason within itself, as your Papa is also royalty and Ben had not yet been made Alpha King.
Because the agreement was blood binding between both of our fathers we couldn't get out of it. It broke my and your Papa's heart we couldn't be together. Fated mates are made for each other.
Ben and I were married that same day. We never slept together and the next day and when we had a celebratory feast Papa said his wolf, Rollo, told him I was pregnant with his pup. I knew it because I'd felt different as well.
Ben found out and flew into a rage. He almost killed your Papa and me and our fathers, because of this and his unbridled unpredictable temper Papa's father told Ben he would no longer become Alpha King. He didn't have what it takes to rule being so unpredictable and full of rage. It was too much of a risk to the realm. But your Papa did, and does. I think the Moon Goddess had planned for it to be him all along", the last part she says looking down smiling at him gently and he returned the smile, nawwww! They're still in luuurvvv!
"So, I had to stay with Ben. And I tried for your Papa to see you as much as we could. Ben hated it and that's why he took alot of it out on you, and I'm so unbelievably sorry for that my precious girl!" she's looking at me with tears in her eyes, eeep! good time for a hug!! I leant into her and give mum a big hug as another set of big arms wrap around us I know it's Papa, then another pair, mmmm Cocoa, Archie, has us all wrapped up in his arms, even Papa, I look up at him and smile, and he grins down at me,
" I couldn't help it", he says still grinning, "Ace told me it was cuddle time!"
