8: Father of the Year

Elder looked me up and down before theatrically clapping his hands. Each clap left a thundering echo in the room, a sound so pressing that it almost brought me to tears.

"Wow", His beast was apparent now and I suddenly felt like prey, "That was really good"

The sound of his chair moving as he got up caused me and Caribessa to jump. Sebastien watched his father like a hawk, same as I.

No one knew what was going to come next. Liz, how could you be so f*****g stupid? Why can't you ever just shut your f*****g mouth?

"Well aren't you going to say something?", His eyes averted to Sebastian expectedly. Sebastian seemed as though he was thinking hard.

Elder then sighed in mock disappointment, "Don't say I never gave you a chance son," He stalked over to me with his face straight as stone, the playfulness gone.

The power that radiated off of him suffocated me.

Sebastien continued to sit there quietly, still in thought about what his next move would be.

"Listen Luna", Venom latched onto every word piercing through me, "I commend you for your bravery. Maybe I can take some of it and it can put a fire under my ass to fight some of my own wars as you say"

A smile creeped onto his face as he walked circles around me, "f**k. You. f**k. You. f**k? Me? Sebastien did you hear that? I think that was my favorite part of your little temper tantrum"

Greyson stood between us with his back to Sebastien and face to me. I looked to Caribessa's face who looked as if this were her first encounter with the beast. Her face was so red, you'd think he were attacking her.

"Listen little girl, I've killed entire villages with my bare hands. I've captured men and made their wives watch as I ripped out their throats. I've looked in the eyes of their daughters and separated them limb from limb. Under my command, I've forced witches to burn people from the inside out", he laughed, "Now I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound like a man who gives a f**k about being loved"

Before I knew it, there was a knife in my rib cage and I was gasping for air. Elder Greyson held onto me as he dug the knife deeper. I could feel his breath on my earlobe as he whispered, "If killing you didn't destroy my boy-"

"Enough!", Sebastien bellowed before swiftly taking me away from his father. I fell limp into his arms as tears silently poured out of my eyes.

Fear enveloped me. He was going to kill you Liz.

Sebastien sat down and sat my limp body onto his lap, "Leave"

I could see the blue surfacing on his hands as he bit the inside of his wrist.

"So your b***h gets besides herself and when I teach her a lesson, I'm still the bad guy", His fathers face went soft for a split second, so split that I convinced myself I'd imagined it in my barely conscious state.

"Caribessa. Up", he summoned her and she ran to his side. Sebastian tensed bringing his wrist to my lips as he removed the knife from my ribs.

I had almost refused knowing what this meant, but quite frankly I was about to die and regular healing wasn't going to do jack s**t in this case.

So, like a good girl, I took in his blood. He rubbed my back soothing me as my wound slowly repaired itself.

"Next visit, I expect for your dog to be trained son", Sebastien continued to cater to me ignoring his fathers exit.

After my wound healed, Sebastien removed me from his lap without a word. Sebastien then ordered the maids to leave and decide on their own what to do with the food they prepared. He then calmly walked upstairs leaving me there, alone.

I tried to convince myself that I should talk to him, but I didn't think he wanted to be annoyed with me. I'd told him I'd be good and I completely flipped at dinner.

Though his father wasn't exactly Father of the f*****g Year, I made a commitment. I knew his father would purposely push me, and I basically jumped off the cliff my f*****g self.

What was worse about the entire situation was that I'd disappointed Sebastien.

"Hey, are you okay?", I hadn't realized I started crying again until Juliet wiped away my tears.

I shook my head, "This blood works fast doesn't it?"
