Chapter 9

Amelia's POV: "Stupid song! Stupid song! Stupid song!" I said as i took my stuffs and slam my locker. I took a deep breath and punch my locker. Good thing no one is around. "Hey, could you keep it down." I yelled. I guess I'm not the only one that is frustrated. I turn to see the person and guess what? It's Quiel, sitting in the corner and still looking pissed. "Pissed off?" I asked. Of course, he is pissed off. You can see it in his face LITERALLY! Quiel glared at me but didn't say a word. I suddenly remember something. I took a piece of paper and drew and smiling, turn into a paper plane then threw it to Quiel. The plane landed on Quiel's thighs. He picked it up and turns to me for a minute before opening the paper. As he was busy opening the paper, I took a deep breath before walking towards him. "I know that you're pissed off." I said as I sat beside him. "Hell, I am too." Quiel saw the smiling face and looked at me. "Do you even know why I'm pissed off?" He asked and I nodded. (Flashback) Our tickling moment was interrupted when Quiel walked by, looking so pissed, so angry and so frustrated. "What was that all about?" Madi asked but I shrugged it off. "I don't know." I know it's none of my business but I just wanted to know his problem. I wonder if i could help me out. As his crush, I must help him out. As I walking the hall, I noticed Quiel and Coach Fredrick talking. i know that eavesdropping are not my thing but I really can't help it. Especially, when it comes to Quiel. I listen closely to their conversation. "Coach, I'm begging you. Please let me play." Quiel said, more like begging. I don’t get it. Quiel is the star player. Why won't coach let him play? "As much as I love to let you play Mr. Adams, I can't. My hands are tied. I already tried reasoning out. But the principal strictly told me, not let you played not unless you would pass the exams next week." "You could tell them that I could take the exam after the games?" Quiel asked. "I'm sorry Quiel. I really can't do anything." Coach Fredrick said as he pats Quiel's shoulder and left. Poor Quiel, no wonder he is frustrated. If all be in his place, I too will pissed off. Rules are rules. Let's deal with it. (End of flashback) "So you heard everything?" Quiel asked. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean too. Just to let you know, it was not my intention. I just overheard you." I said, clarifying the situation. "It's still the same. You still heard everything." he smirked. "It was unintended." I defended which made him laugh. I never thought that I would be a comedian. But hey, if Quiel is laughing then I'm happy. At least, he is no longer frustrated or pissed off. "I want to help you pass the exam." I finally said with a serious tone. "You wanted to play and the only way is to pass the exam." Quiel looked shocked as he couldn't believe what I've just said. "Why do you wanted to do that." he asked. Why did I say that? One, he is my crush. Second, he needs to pass his exam. Third, he is my crush. Fourth, I can really tell in his eyes that he really wanted to play. Last but not the least, if this is the only way to be close to him and go for it. Plus, he is my crush. "You need help." I answered. Seriously, I was able to make 5 answered but my answer was different. Very nice Amelia. Note the Sarcasm. "Why?" he asked. Why does he have a lot of questions? He could just simply say thank you. End of discussion. "Why do you have a lot of question?" I asked. "Because, a normal person doesn’t accidentally overheard other's conversation and would say, you wanted to help them pass the exam." I said. "So, I'm not normal?" I asked, trying to be angry. "No! No!" He said, putting his hand in front of him. "What I mean't was, people just don't offer help to other people especially if they are not-" I cut him and finished his sentence. "Friends?" Quiel was about to say something but no words came out of his mouth. Probably, he doesn't know how to react. He would look at me and would look down. Awkward silence if I do say myself. "Why do you think that is weird to help other people?" I asked trying to break the awkward silence. But sadly, he didn't say a word so I just continue. "Just so you know, people could help other people. Probably you are thinking that people would help because there is a reward. Not people are like that. They could help, you could help, I can help without expecting any rewards." "I'm sorry; I didn't mean to offend you." He said, not looking at me. "That kind a hurts." I said. "But you are right. No normal people would help other if they are not friends. I'm sorry I didn't mean to disturb you and I'm sorry for bursting." I finally stood up and turn away and stopped to say something. "For the record, I do help other people without expecting anything in return. So, I guess that I'm not normal and that I'm weird. Probably that's why I only have one friend. I turn to face him. "However, the reason why I'm offering my help is because I'm considering you as my friend. You probably won't consider me because I'm not normal and weird. Plus, you are the school heartthrob and I'm the school nerd. I know that our society won't allow it. But I do consider you as one and I hope you would consider me as well." I said and left him shocked.
