Amelia’s POV:
“Thanks for letting me stay for dinner.” Nathan smiled as we walked towards his car. “It’s no big deal.” I smiled back. “Thank you helping my grandma and for not saying anything about what happen in the school cafeteria.” The dinner with Nathan is super fun. I never realize that he is a fun person to be with. Whoever his girlfriend would be, she is definitely lucky.
“I’m sorry as well.” Nathan said as he turns to me. “Sorry for what?” I asked with a confused looked. “For what Alexa did to you.” Nathan said. “To be honest, she wasn’t like that. Quiel and I have known her since we were kids. I guess it happen when we grew apart.” Nathan said. “You know what they say, people change.” I said. “I just hope and pray that she will realize that bullying some else is wrong. Anyways, I still wanted to say thank you.”
“So, I guess I’ll see you tomorrow then.” Nathan said and I nodded. “See you tomorrow.” I said as watch me went to his car and wave goodbye. “Good luck on your game tomorrow.” I smile as I waved goodbye and saw Nathan left.
I happen to look across and I saw Quiel was outside, taking out the trash. Did he saw me and Nathan together? Why would I be worry if he saw us together? I took a deep breath before I went towards him. “Quiel,” I called as I approach him. Quiel saw me and lift his head up. “Hey Amelia, What’s up?” He said. “I’m doing well.” I smiled. “Listen, I just wanted to say thank you for helping me out earlier. I really really appreciate it.”
“Don’t mention it.” He said. “It’s just my way of saying I’m sorry and thank you?” I gave me a confused looked. “Sorry and thank you for what?” I asked. “I’m sorry for being a jerk. You were only trying to help me out but instead I gave it a different meaning. Thank you for making me realizes that not all people are users. People just wanted to help you out because they wanted to. They will do it without asking anything in return. He smiled.
“It’s nothing. I’m sorry if I burst out like that. I just thought that we are friends.” I said. “We are now friends.” He smiled. “Are you still playing tomorrow?” I asked and he nodded. “Yeah, I can still play for tomorrow but after that, I still need to pass my exams in order for me to play for the last two weeks.
Should I offer my help? He helped out me with Alexa earlier so why not I do the same with him. I know that he declined my offer but I just wanted to help him out. “I see” I said as I battle with myself if I should offer my help or not. “Well, good luck on your game tomorrow.” I was about to turn around when he stopped me.
“Wait Amelia, are you watching our game tomorrow?” He asked. “I don’t know, I promise Madi to help her with the store but I’ll try.” I smiled and he nodded. “See you tomorrow then. I hope you can watch our game tomorrow.” Quiel said and I nodded back. “See you tomorrow.” I answered back. “Good night.”
“Good night.” He said as he went inside while I went back to the house.
As soon as I got back to the house, I close the door and the locked it. When I turn around, I saw Aunt Paula and grandma who were inches away from my face. “Geez grandma and Aunt Paula, you almost gave me a heart attack.” I said as I put my hands on my chest. I can definitely feel my heart pumping fast.
“So, you and Nathan?” Aunt Paula teased, wiggling her eyebrows. “Nothing, we’re just friends.” I said. Wow! I never thought I’d say that. “I like him.” Grandma said. “He is the first guy that I met who knows you.” She added. “That’s because he is the first guy who came to our house that I know.” I explained. Honestly, if it wasn’t for grandma, Nathan wouldn’t be here in the first place.
“I still like him better than your crush.” Grandma said. “You haven’t met Quiel. Don’t be to judgmental.” I defended. Grandma doesn’t know that Nathan and Quiel are best friends, she doesn’t that my best friend has a crush on Nathan and last but not the least, grandma doesn’t know that Quiel lives across our street. I’m planning to stay it that way. Grandma doesn’t need to know that, even Aunt Paula doesn’t know. They might do something weird or something crazy.
“Grandma is so supportive.” Aunt Paula squeals like a five year old girl. “I agree with her. Nathan is better looking than Quiel.” I’m living on a same roof with a two judgmental people. Aunt Paul doesn’t know how Quiel look like. I better let them know about Madi’s feelings towards Nathan.
“Stop it. It would never happen.” I said. “WHY?” They both asked at the same time. “Nathan is Madi’s ultimate crush. “ I said. “It’s just a crush. She is not Nathan’s girlfriend.” Grandma said. “You’re so correct grandma. I’m still rooting for Amethan.” Aunt Paul said.
What the hell is an Amethan…………….
“Amethan?” I asked with an eyebrow up. “Amelia and Nathan” Aunt Paula squeals as she jump up and down. “Oooh, I like that.” Grandma smiled. Am I seeing this correct? Grandma and Aunt Paula are having a fan girl mode because of Nathan? This is what you don’t see every day.
“Oh my gosh, Stop it both of you.” I said. “Like I’ve said earlier, Nathan and I were just friends. There would not be an Amethan because Madi has a crush on Nathan and I respect her feeling. So stop it.” Since, it’s getting late grandma and Aunt Paula decided to stop their fan mode and went to sleep.
“Good night…” I said to myself as I close my eyes and let my sleep take over. Tomorrow will be another day.
