The Untamed

Whoever had said that the wedding day would be the happiest for an elf, had been gravely mistaken. Or at least in Evelyn's case, they were. Maybe they hadn't considered an elf princess getting married to an old wolf king while her mate was right there, waltzing with the wolf princess. And the jealousy as her eyes flashed to them, sweetly talking in each other's ears, could be swallowed down with a strong glass of red wine, no matter the judgmental stares at the new Queen for drinking alcohol on her own wedding. Suddenly, King Robert took the glass from her hand, giving it to one of the maids nearby. "What do you think you're doing?" He whispered in her ear, a voice so cold and scary, it gave her shivers. "Drinking." She shrugged, trying not to lower her eyes at his strong Alpha King aura. "Celebrating for my happiness." Bitterness was so obvious in her voice it made Robert clench his jaw in annoyance. But he couldn't tell he didn't find her fierceness attractive. A little too much attractive if you asked him; he usually saw so low in little girls like her, but she was proving to be more and more tempting. Something to be expected from King Evander's only daughter. Beauty was one of the only things that had allured him to her, after all. "Dance with me," he ordered, his voice not leaving anything up for discussion. However, the frown on her forehead was saying otherwise. "I'm not some sort of servant for you to order around, King Robert." Her voice was low, yet strong. She was tired, oh so tired of trying to hold herself back and be the good girl everyone wanted her to be. She hadn't allowed to be ordered by Queen Antoinette her all life no matter the consequences, she sure as hell wouldn't listen to this monster of a king now. He smirked, pleased of her resistance. "You'll learn to take orders only from me, my dear. Everyone else here is under your command but when it comes to me you'll obey." "In your most beautiful dreams," she responded, not because his words didn't secretly scare the hell out of her, but because they tricked her anger as well. This time he growled, his patience being in a thin line. He wasn't used to take no for an answer, who would've dared anyway? "Dance with me before I tear down the f*****g place, Evelyn. You don't want to be the cause of it now, do you?" His voice was dead serious and it made her words get caught on her throat. How was he even considering that when everybody were his guests? The man had some serious anger issues. Closing her eyes, she put her hand on his waiting one and only hoped for the time to move forward so this could end as soon as it began. She could hear people, mostly people from other species, talking, whispering, gossiping of how much of a hypocrite she could be to accept all this but she tried blocking her heightened senses and just swallow all this down. The way Arthmael's eyes flashed to her, all the mix of emotions they held in the depth of them, it was all she could see. He was jealous, she could tell that much. And hurt.  And still dancing with Estelle. A sad smile spread up on her face. Why wouldn't he? Not only he had known her for most of his life, but most importantly, she was everything a man could dream in a woman. Smart, sweet, kind, elegant, beautiful... Not married. Did Evelyn have a right to even feel like this? Like someone was taking what was her? Arthmael wasn't hers, after all. He would never be. "You'll take the Queen duties seriously starting from tomorrow." Robert's words brought her back to reality. His grip firming a little more on her waist. "You'll be part of every family meal of course, and be there in every pack meeting we'll have as the Luna you're supposed to be. I don't want them to think I'm holding you prisoner or any sort of this thing. You'll do your very best to convince everyone you're happy here, with me." Evelyn stiffened. Happy? "And before you start making a face, you'll f*****g have a smile on your face the whole damn time or I'll force one upon you. Am I clear?" She blinked back tears. Not waiting for an answer, he left her there, in the middle of the dance floor and went to his daughter to take her on a dance. And it was clear she had no choice now but to dance with Arthmael, something that was expected because he wasn't supposed to leave his Queen without a partner when his own partner was dancing with someone else. She looked away as he approached her and took her hand in his, bring it on his lips to leave a kiss on her knuckles that was enough to catch the breath on her throat. "You danced with him. Again," Arthmael whispered, jaw clenched and wolf scratching his skin from inside. "Are you becoming quite fond of your husband, your grace?" The your grace was obviously mocking, it only made her anger rise. "Of course." On the contrary of what she wanted to do, she smiled. "I've always been into older men..." The hold on her waist tightened to the point it almost hurt but he didn't say a thing. "...As some are into women they should consider as sisters," she couldn't keep from adding. This time he grinned. "Oh, so this is it we're talking about? Estelle?" She cursed herself for making her jealousy this obvious. "I didn't say a thing about Estelle." He lowered his lips on her ear so no one could hear a thing. "She's like a sister to me and a sister only. The only woman I've been watching all night..." he trailed off. The only woman he had been watching all night was his supposed father's wife. "It doesn't matter now, does it?" And she made a step back, informing him the song had ended. He hadn't even realized it, that's how lost he had been on her. He just wanted her so damn much. But as his Alpha came to get her off his arms, and he realized the ceremony was ending, the last thing in the world he could do was stay in the castle any longer. Under the same roof with them as his mate spent the first night of her marriage with his Alpha. Only the image of it made his wolf howl, scream inside his head like someone had physically hurt him. Not that this wasn't much worse. "Where are you going?" Estelle asked, worry written all over her face at the sight of pain in his eyes. "Shift... run," he explained. Even two words like that were so goddamn hard to say. "Is something wrong?" She cupped his face and he knew Evelyn was watching. "Do you want me to come with you?" "No." He shook his head. "No I wanna be left alone... I wanna..." He wanted her, that's what he wanted. However, he walked outside, leaving her on the mercy of King Robert's gaze. And after meeting up with the guests and wishing all the best to them with the most sincere smile she could fake, she had to be accompanied by Robert while trying to reach her room as soon as she could. "Not in that direction darling, our room is in the left." There was something wild behind his calm voice. He desired her. She could see that and it only added more to the disgusting pit already formed on her stomach. They were alone. And it was damn scary. But if she wanted to survive, she had to put up a front. The whole time. "No, my room is in the right,"  she put the emphasize on my room. "There is no our room." "Evelyn." He gritted his teeth. "Don't play with my nerves. You're my f*****g wife now so start acting like one. What did you think, that this was an arranged marriage and you wouldn't get on my bed? Please me how many f*****g times I want?" Her racing heart could be heard from miles away, but her face didn't gave her away, no matter the overwhelming fear kicking her senses. "I'd rather die that let your filthy hands on my body!" Her voice came out strong, full of rage. "The hands of the man that ordered the slaughter of my father right in front of my eyes. I'd choose death a million times." He growled as his fist connected with the wall with so much force that it made the chandelier fall and break in million pieces. "Do you think you have a choice still you f*****g annoying little w***e? You know you're just like your father; he spoke like he owned the world too. Pathetic. You elves are all pathetic." "Don't you dare speak about my father!" She shouted, her elf magic almost coming out of her body unconsciously. "If he would be just a little bit of pathetic you wouldn't crave the power he had. And as for me, you'll never get to tame me. As for me you'll only dream having, King Robert. I'll fight you with everything in me if you dare touch me, I promise you this." And with that, she walked to her room, locking the door from behind. Letting her body slipping and falling on the floor, her walls breaking along with her, while tears ran wild down her face.
