The night was over and so was Alexandra. She stepped out of her sleek luxurious car and walked into the massive building that screamed of nothing but wealth.
At least, she was calm from her frustration but life didn't give her what she wanted as she saw her dad approaching with one of his most trusted men.
"Dad!" Alexandra called out and she bowed in respect. So did Lucas, her Beta and Malcom her Gamma.
She was greeted with a solid slap across her face that was enough to throw her to the floor, but she didn't moved an inch. She stood still, and tall and took it all.
"How dare you?" William spat, his voice filled with raw vernom and disappointment.
"I'm sorry" Alex muttered, her voice choky but she didn't dare let a tear roll down her face.
She stood firm with lowered head.
"Your sorry won't change anything"
"I tried, but someone had long sabotage it by offering him an even more better deal" Alex tried to explain but ended up receiving another slap that made her stumble two steps backward.
"You incompetent fool...I don't know why I let you handle the deal to begin with"William was in a rage, and he didn't know the better way to vent it out.
"I'm sorry" Alex could only mutter the words. Again, she ended up with a kick on her stomach that left her falling.
Lucas tried to help her but she pushed him away. She hates being weak, it only defines what her father always say about her true...weak, pathetic and a dependent bastard.
"Dad!" Robert called out from the entrance as he walked further into the building.
He stopped a step away from Alex who was on the floor. His eyes flickered with happiness as he stared at her, the look of victory hovered all over his face.
"It's done" he faced William, "the deal with Mr Ralph is done with us having the power hand of 60/40" he further explained, "and he agrees to for an equal percentage of lost"
"Amazing!" William exclaimed, his frustrated and angry face was now filled with happiness.
"You are amazing, son" he added, "I'm super proud of you"
Before Alex, William hugged Robert, the way a proud father does.
Alex watched them with heavy heart, her emotions threatened to expose her but she does her best to hide it. Like she always does.
She's been here many times, uncountable but every time it feels like something new and it hurts. Love, is what she's always yearn for but all she got was scolding, harsh words of insults and disappointment, and a father who doesn't seem to care about her.
"Will you be kind to help me drag a deal with Mr Walter? You sister here couldn't fulfill something as small as this" William glanced at Alex.
"No dad, please, allow me and I promise to make it right" Alex begged.
"You are the only one I trust now, Robert, get this and see if I wouldn't give you anything you requested for" William dared.
Robert's lip pulled up into a smile. "I won't fail you" he glanced down at Alex and his smile change into a smirk.
Without a word, he excused himself. William left seconds after.
Alex stayed on the ground, broken with no tears.
She force herself to stand, and without a word, she carried herself to her quarter and to her room.
**************
The cold night breeze blew pass Alexandra, the soft feeling of life caressed her bare arms and the sweet smell of nature swept pass her nostril.
She stood on the dark bridge staring at the night sky. The sky was void of any stars, dark clouds creeping in ever corner of the sky.
Tears rolled down her cheeks, but no sound left her lips. The day her mom died was the last day she openly showed her weakness to everyone.
This place, the cold dark bridge is where she comes whenever she's hurt. She'll cry without a sound, and let her tear flow freely where no one will see and relate it as weakness.
"Only only wishes were true" she muttered and wiped dry her face.
"But they aren't.... sadly" she blurted out a true fact.
She turned, straighten up and began walking away. Back to where her car was parked.
She didn't take up to ten steps when she felt like she was being followed. Her senses heightened and her adrenaline kicked in.
She glanced behind and saw no one. The darkness of the street didn't help at all.
When she turned back to continue going, four huge men were now standing infront of her, blocking her path.
She knew she was in danger, but she didn't quiver.
She ignored them and turned to leave in the other direction only to face another four set of men.
They approached her, circling her in the middle.
"What do you want?" She demanded.
One of the men smile, "such a piece of cake"
"I alone can take her out" he added as he laughed out heartily.
He stepped forward and attempted to grab Alex but she was quick to dodge. She grabbed him from behind and twisted his arms forcing him to his knees as he screamed in pain.
"Step back, all of you!" She warned.
When the men didn't budge, she applies more pressure on the back and arm of the man who was at her mercy and he screamed.
"Get behind, idiots!" He yelled and they obeyed at once.
It was clear, he was their leader.
Alexandra used that opening to find her escape. She found her way out of the circle and when she was away from them, she throw the man away and took on her heels into the dark alley.
They chased her, further and deeper. Alexandra didn't know where she was but when she could no longer run, she began fighting them.
But they were too many and huge for her to take on. She was skilled, but at this point, she wasn't herself.
It was the week of the full moon and she hasn't fully gain control of her wolf. And the present of the full moon has always had a torturing effect on her.
As she fought them off, her strength was wearing off. Tear began dripping down her face, like water pouring down.
She was getting weaker as the clock ticks to twelve. The men took that opportunity to beat her up.
Just when she thought its her end,she heard the voice of a familiar someone.
"It's a shame right huge men are ganging up on a fragile lady" Ryder said.
He noticed them a while ago and has been observing them. At first, he didn't wanted to interfere but when he noticed the lady growing slowly in fighting, he knew he must help... unlike the men, he's not a jerk and a woman abuser.
"Shut up your trash and leave before we add you here" One of the men warned.
"That still won't be fair, right against two...I mean, take a good look at yourself, you are all men, and we are just " Ryder didn't get to complete his words when one of the men attacked him.
He grabbed the man's hand with so much ease and kicked him to the ground.
That one act aggravated the entire gang, and they came after him. He fought them all with so much ease and in minutes, they were all lying on the floor unable to stand up.
He went ahead and helped Alex up.
"I wonder what a lady like you would be doing out at this late hour" he thought outwardly.
"None of your business " Alexandra retorted
"Yeah, a good way to say thank you" Ryder nodded. It was dark and he didn't get the chance to see her face.
"I hope you don't get beaten up again next time...cause they won't be a me to help" he said and walked away.
"What's you name?" Alexandra asked over her voice.
Ryder halted and faced her, he walked back to where she was and leaned down, close enough that his lips were all over her earlobe.
"You smell good, by the way" he whispered, "almost making me think of this certain someone " he pulled away.
"But you are not her" he turned and began walking away.
"Ryder" he said as he walked away.
Alexandra watched him walk away into the darkness.
A car drove and stopped next to her. Lucas and Malcolm stepped out.
"What happened?" Lucas asked with concerned laced in his voice.
"I was attacked..." She said, her eyes not moving the direction Ryder took.
"Someone is after my life ", she finally moved and faced Lucas.
"Why didn't you call us?" Lucas complained.
"I lost myself for a while and found myself all ganged. All I could do was try to escape " she suddenly stopped talking all of a sudden.
"What's the matter?" Lucas asked.
"My necklace, it's gone" she whispered.
Lucas pointed his flash and saw her neck bare. He tried to search it around but found nothing.
"You won't find it easily, it's not here...he took it" she pointed out.
"Who?" Lucas asked.
"Forget it, I will get it back" Alexandra carried herself to the car and in second, the car engine roared as it speeds away into the road.
As they drove home, her finger walked on her empty neck. She silently vow to get back the necklace.
It's the onlyadt treasure she has that's worth dying for...the necklace, belongs to her mother and that's the only piece of her she has apart from her memories.
