All hell broke loose as the creature leapt straight at Adaria, who managed to grab her sword in an instant and s***h wildly at it.
The blade couldn’t even penetrate its skin as it rattled against its side. The creature ducked its head and knocked her sideways, straight into the wall beside her.
Adaria collapsed against the wall, the wind knocked out of her completely. She tried to stand, but she couldn’t even suck in any air. Even worse, the creature had turned around and was coming for her.
But right as it leapt at her, Nero barreled into its side, sending it rolling away from her. A snarl came from somewhere beside her, and when she looked, Theo had transformed into his wolf form and was leaping at the creature.
