Like a panther taking down its prey, Nero suddenly flew over Adaria and collided with the Reaver. They both crashed across the water, tumbling across the bank and crashing into a tree. Nero was on his feet in an instant however, and he turned towards Adaria quickly.
“RUN!” he yelled, just as the Reaver swung around and hit him square in the face with its tail, lifting him in the air and throwing him several feet away.
But Adaria wouldn’t run. She was tired of running. If she ran now, then she would be running for the rest of her life.
Behind her, Theo suddenly appeared amongst the trees, and as soon as he sighted the Reaver, he growled menacingly at it.
“No!” Adaria yelled to stop him. “Stay with Reyna. I’ll handle this.”
With nothing but her thoughts, she summoned her sword
