Justin released a deep throated laughter, "what do you mean connections?" He asked when he was finally able to get a hold of himself.
"That's the only explanation as to why he was specifically chosen by the head of the police department." The receiver said.
"That can never be possible, he's just a little less than a church rat, so how can he have connections with the police?" He asked.
The receiver remained quiet not know how else to explain the situation, he was however certain that the police could not just randomly request his presence, something was going on behind the scenes.
"Are you certain of what you just said?" Justin asked.
"Yes sir, I am certain that there's someone behind him, someone powerful enough to tamper with the interview."
Justin remained quiet, he needed to teach Duncan a lesson. He couldn't just sit and watch that arrogant boy do what he likes, he would go through hell and high waters just to teach him a lesson.
There was no way that Duncan would have a connection so powerful suddenly, except he was riding on someone's coattails.
"I have a request then." He said calmly.
"Yes sir, please go on."
"I want to attend the interview as the chief examiner." Justin said.
"Hmm.. sir, that's a little too much but since you ask, I will inform the others." The receiver said unwilling to defy Justin's request even though it was a little too much of a request and Justin hung up.

"You really sucks at chess." Ethan muttered as his son moved the King.
"I'm trying my best Dad." Michael groaned ruffling his hair. "Not everyone is as good as you are." He added moving his bishop to c6
"I can't still believe I found someone better than me today, he played so well you would never see his next move coming." Ethan said blocking Michael's player.
"How can one be that good? You kept talking about him since we started this game." Michael replied releasing a grunt as Ethan blocked another of his player.
"I can't help it, he intrigued me." Ethan smiled recalling Duncan's last move.
"Don't you think he approached you on purpose?" Michael asked, he was worried that this Duncan must have approached his father because he might have an ulterior motive.
"I didn't tell him my name, I concealed my identity pretty well. There's no way he would know who I am." Ethan answered shaking his head as he took out another of Michael's players.
"But he might be deceiving you." Michael insisted, he had given up on the game, there was no way he could beat his father, little wonder why his father still keeps talking about Duncan.
"Don't worry son, my skill is high." He smiled as he kicked off another player.
"I worry he might be bullied at the interview, I think someone is bent on pulling him down." Michael said watching his father.
"Don't worry about that, I invited the deputy minister of the state organisation department to oversee the situation." Ethan said.
"Checkmate." He grinned.

"Mr Stone?"
Duncan raised his hand, "Over here."
"It's your turn to be interviewed." The secretary said.
He took in a deep breathe before walking inside the office.
His eyes landed on Justin sitting at the middle of the men, his heart stopped.
What was he doing here?
Trying to keep the shock off his face, Duncan plastered a smile as he waited to be asked to get seated.
"Have your seat young man." One of the interviewer said.
"Thank you."
"Mr Stone, I hear you are being specially recuited by the police, may I know your source?" Justin asked without wasting time. "Things like this doesn't happen frequently, on the contrary, it's very unusual."
A frown masked his face, "What do you mean source?" He asked.
"Answer the question Mr Stone, who referred you from the police department?" He asked again.
"I'm sorry sir, but I don't quite follow." He replied.
Justin's face turned sour.
"I have no idea what you're talking about, I don't have any source, I'm here because I received the notification concerning the interview." Duncan replied feigning innocence.
"This is an interview Duncan, you must say nothing but the truth."Justin snapped.
"As you rightly said, its and interview, why did you drop the formalities?" Duncan asked. "You just called me by my first name."
Justin's face turned red with anger.
"How dare you!"
"Calm down sir, the interview haven't begun." Duncan said staring at Justin in the eyes.
Justin scoffed in disbelief, "Gentlemen, you can see that this young man does not qualify for this position, I will have to fail him."
Duncan's stared at him with cold hard eyes. "Sir, I don't mean to sound rude but can I know the reason you want to fail me?" He asked.
"You don't need to know, someone like you is not fit for this position." Justin replied.
The other interviewers watched the exchanged without saying a word, they just let Justin have his way.
"How? I was told I passed the first test but somehow it was sabotaged, luckily, I was called for an interview and now this?" Duncan was losing his cool. "I wasn't asked any questions based on the profession and yet you said I failed just because you think I have a source."
"Is this the room where the interview is being held?" A man on glasses asked standing by the door.
All the interviewers stood up at once rushing to the door to usher him in. As soon as Justin set his eyes on him, his eyes went wide, That was the deputy minister of the state organization department, Mr Thompson.
"Thank you for coming sir." One of the interviewers said smiling at him, "We are indeed honoured by your presence."
Not wanting to been seen on the scene since he had no buiness there, Justin hurried out but stood by the door to know what would happen next.
He hadn't knew the deputy minister would come for such interview, he wasn't informed of this development.
"Where is Mr. Duncan Stone?" Mr Thompson asked adjusting his glasses.
"I am here sir." Duncan replied sharply. It was then it dawn on him that the minister had arranged for help. His chat with the senior prosecutor yesterday, must have yielded good fruits.
"Good." The deputy minister said as he walked to the chair of the chief examiner that Justin once occupied.
Meanwhile, Justin went still in fear, how could the deputy minister know Duncan of all people?
