The lady laughing paused and frowned. “What’s happening… You can’t knock?”
“The door is automatic.” I raised a brow.
The lady looked stunned. She glanced at the man sitting beside her, then at Kelvin too, and frowned. “How dare you speak back?”
I quickly swallowed the rest of my words and forced myself to move toward Kelvin’s table and submit the file. Then I heard, “Honey! I want her to apologise.” She tapped Kelvin’s table.
I was so surprised. Is she Kelvin’s girlfriend? Well… Kelvin won’t let me apologise to her, right?
Then I heard Kelvin sigh and look at me. I quickly avoided his eyes and focused on the file. “Apologise to her and get out.”
I froze. Was that for me?
The lady smiled happily. “Exactly!”
Not to cause problems, I said, “I’m sorry.” Then I turned around to leave.
