16. Sudden marriage request

Serina, who was stunned by the police officer's handsomeness, could only stare at him blankly.
"Sorry, miss, what did you say?" The police officer asked again, as he hadn't heard Serina's previous statement clearly.
"Ah, nothing," Serina replied, coming back to her senses with a flushed face.
'I just expressed a feeling directly. Oh no, Serina, what are you doing? Why are you so bold? What's possessing you?'
"Thank you for your help, young lady." The woman from earlier thanked Serina.
Serina nodded slightly in response.
The police officer was about to leave with the newly captured suspect.
"Here, take this." The woman took out some money from her wallet and offered it to Serina.
"No need, ma'am, I don't want this as payment for my help." Serina pushed the money back to the woman.
"Why won't you take it? Is this not enough? If so, wait." The woman checked her wallet again, but unfortunately, she didn't find any more money than what she was currently holding. "But I don't have anything more than this, maybe you can come to my house to collect it." The woman gave Serina her address.
Serina smiled with a confused face.
'How do I explain that I don't need anything, and this is not insufficient?'
Finally, to end their conversation, Serina accepted the woman's address.
After meeting the woman, Serina went to the food stall, but unfortunately, she couldn't find everything she was looking for. She ended up going to a minimarket to buy other necessities that she still needed for the week.
After finishing her shopping, Serina returned home.
She quickly cooked instant noodles to eat first, and after finishing her meal, she resumed her unfinished work.

"Edward! Mom's got good news," Stevie exclaimed, entering Edward's office. His face looked cheerful and happy, as if he was in a good mood.
More than that. Stevie, who had been helped by a beautiful young woman with good manners like his ideal daughter-in-law, suddenly remembered his son, who was still single.
"Edward!" Stevie approached Edward's desk and pulled out a chair, where Edward was sitting with his back to the city view from the glass-enclosed apartment.
Edward was startled when he saw his mother's sudden arrival at his office without warning.
"Do you know, Edward?" Stevie asked with a very happy and excited tone.
"Did Mom find a rare item again or did Mom's business receive an award again for making it into the list of top entertainment companies in the world?" Edward's question didn't stray from stories about the company and various things about the auction house his mother often visited.
Stevie's smile turned into a flat and gloomy face. He looked at his son intensely.
"You, can't you think of anything else besides business and Mom's valuable items?" he asked with a displeased face and his arms crossed.
"What else is there besides that?" Edward responded casually to his mother's attitude.
Stevie immediately smiled again, thinking about what he would say to Edward. "You'll be getting married soon, and Mom has found a suitable partner for you," Stevie said, pulling out a chair in front of Edward's desk and sitting down.
"What!!!" Edward immediately jumped up from his seat and spoke loudly.
"You're not being polite at all, speaking loudly to the person who gave birth to you. Do you want to be hit?" Stevie asked with an unhappy face at Edward's response.
"It's not like that, Mom, sorry." Edward sat back down and tried to calm down.
"We'll be having your wedding next month, so get ready," Stevie said, feeling too lazy to explain it to Edward, then got up from his seat and left Edward's office. "Don't blame Mom, it's because you took too long to introduce Mom to your girlfriend. Mom started to doubt if you even had a partner," Stevie said as he stood at the door.
"No, this can't happen. No matter what, I'm not ready to get married yet!" Edward's shout made Felix, who was outside the door, immediately enter to check on Edward's condition.
"What's wrong, sir?" Felix asked cautiously.
"Felix." Edward immediately grabbed Felix's shoulders. "Find that woman!" he ordered firmly.
Felix, who didn't know what Edward meant, asked, "Which woman do you mean, sir?"
Because they often met women on their travels, and almost all the women fell in love with Edward, Felix couldn't tell who Edward was looking for.
"The woman who has been living in my house for the past few weeks. What's her name?" Edward asked back, because he rarely called her by her nickname.
"Serina, sir," Felix replied.
"Yes, that's it. Find her now and don't come back to me until you've found her." Edward gave Felix an order.
Felix quickly left Edward's office and searched for Serina's whereabouts.
"What's going on with the boss? Why is he suddenly looking for that woman? Didn't he say that the debt would be forgiven as long as she paid it, even if it was just a little? Why is he looking for her now? I feel sorry for her." Felix, who still didn't know what Edward's intentions were, wondered.
"No matter what it takes, I have to find you, Serina." Edward sat with a tense attitude, playing with a pen in his hand and occasionally tapping it on the table. On the other hand, Serina, who was busy working, suddenly sneezed.
"Achoo!"
"It seems like someone's talking about me," Serina murmured, refocusing on her work.
"Sister!" Xander called out, walking with his small steps towards Serina, who was sitting on a workbench. "Finish your homework, let's play. I bought a new toy at school today." Xander pulled Serina's arm.
Serina refused his request.
"But, my mom asked me to invite you to play and come home because mom said there's something she wants to discuss with you alone." Xander whispered to Serina.
This made Serina, who was initially uninterested, curious about what Xander's mom really wanted to talk about.
Serina then told Xander to wait outside because she would change her clothes first before they left.
Xander obeyed and waited outside Serina's room.
Serina, who was already ready, came out of her room and asked Xander to take her to his house.
At the house, Serina was warmly welcomed by Xander's family, including his mother, father, older siblings, and Xander himself.
"Serina, sorry to disturb your work. But I'm here to say something serious. Will you marry my child?”
