2. Help

"What's in it for me to help someone like you, who can't even provide me with any benefits?" the man said, unwilling to help. "I'll do whatever you want, so please help me," Serin said confidently, ready to accept any consequences. "Is that so?" "Hmm." Serin nodded slowly with a serious expression. "But I don't need anything from someone like you, because I already have everything I want," the man said arrogantly. "Hey! Are you done yet?" a man shouted from outside. Serina grasped the man's hand, pleading. "Please, I know you're handsome, kind, and not arrogant. Help this dirty woman escape from them. "I promise I'll give you more money if I can be free from them." Serina's voice was laced with desperation, and tears began to fall from her eyes. The door burst open, and Serina still clutched the man's hand, looking towards the person who had broken in. She gulped hard. "You! Come here!" one of the guards shouted, ordering Serina. Serina covered her face behind the man. "What? I didn't hear?" The old man entered, his eyes narrowing as he saw Serina with another man in the public restroom. He felt betrayed. One of the guards, who had just arrived, quickly took his position beside the old man. "Sutt, boss, don't yell at him," he cautioned. "Why not? Who is he, that I have to speak politely?," the old man retorted, his eyes wide with surprise. "He's the son of the renowned Alenz family," the guard whispered. The old man and the guard were shocked, their eyes widening in disbelief. They couldn't believe that the man was a descendant of the famous Alwnz family, known as the "King of Gold." "Oops, sorry for unintentionally offending you, sir, but can you please hand the woman over to us? We need to return her to her owner," the old man said, his tone suddenly changing to a polite one. The man beside Serina simply looked at the old man calmly. The atmosphere in the room became tense, including Serina. "Sir, why are you taking so long?" a man in a black jacket, panting heavily, interrupted. "Tuan... What's going on?" the man asked, realizing the tense situation. "Felix," the man replied curtly. "Yes, sir?" Felix responded, approaching him. "Take this woman away with you," he ordered. Felix hesitated, unsure of what to say. "B-but...". The man's expression turned stern. "Did you not hear me, or do you want your salary cut?" Felix quickly regained his composure. "Sorry, sir, I'll do it." "Let's go, Miss," Felix said, guiding Serina to follow him. The old man stopped them. "Wait!". He handed his jacket to Serina and tied it around her waist. "Go." As Felix and Serina were about to leave, they were blocked by the old man's guard. "What's going on, Tuan Edward? I know you're a respected family member and the owner of the Alenz company, but you can't do this to me, taking my toys away. That's cheating." The old man tried to negotiate, offering a large sum of money. "How much do you need? Double? No, that's not my worth. I'll give you ten times the amount I paid for her initially. So, don't interfere." Serina, on the other hand, felt dizzy and fainted after hearing the enormous amount of money being offered. Felix quickly caught her, preventing her from falling. Everyone was shocked, including Edward. He quickly approached Serina and scooped her up in his arms, ignoring the strange looks of the people around him. "Don't let what happened today spread, or you'll face the consequences," Edward warned, entrusting Felix with the task. Edward's warning was a statement. If this was something that needed to be kept secret, he would ensure it. He quickly carried Serina into the car and took her home. At home, Edward rushed inside, carried Serina to her room, and laid her on the bed. He gazed at her for a moment before leaving again. "I want you to watch her until she wakes up," Edward instructed his servants. All the servants nodded in understanding. After ensuring everything was taken care of, Edward left again, leaving Serina in the room. Serina, who had fallen asleep, was now experiencing a nightmare in her subconscious. "No, I don't want to! Don't!" Serina screamed, terrified as she saw something strange in front of her. "You've ruined everything, I'll make you regret it!" threatened a woman covered in blood and wounds, with a pungent smell. "No, I don't want to! Please leave me alone, I didn't do anything to you. "We've never even met," Serina pleaded, trying to shoo the woman away. "You can't escape!" The woman became even more aggressive. *** The luxurious and grand food prepared by the Jaeden family's personal chef was spread out on the dining table in their opulent mansion. Leonard Alenz and Stevie Alenz were seated, enjoying the feast before them. They faced each other, exchanging praise and affection as if it would never end. They discussed their only son at length, showcasing to the world how happy and full of love their lives were. The scene itself made Edward feel nauseous and irritated, causing his hand to clench into a fist without realizing it. Edward hated this fact. He hated everything he knew. Because what his father was showing him was all just a lie, as his father, Leonard, had been secretly cheating on them. This fact made Edward always look at his father with contempt, as his charming smile was not just for his mother's sake. His mother had sacrificed so much for his father. The genuine love his mother had for his father made Edward feel guilty about revealing the truth about his father's actions. "I'm done eating," Edward said briefly before leaving the dining table. His parents looked at each other in surprise at his sudden departure. "He seems upset this time." Leonard excused Edward's behavior, attributing it to his busy work schedule lately. Edw ard lay in his room, trying to drift off to sleep and clear his mind of thoughts about his father.
