Steve walked in again, without knocking again!
I couldn’t stop the icy look I gave him, not that I would anyway. "Don't know how to knock?"
There was a strange look in Steve's eyes, but it disappeared the moment I spoke, and he immediately gave me an apologetic smile. "Sorry."
"Really?" I rolled my eyes.
"I promise. I'll knock next time."
"Yes, or we will have to speak to HR." He just nodded and stood there awkwardly. “So…?."
“Yes.” He quickly walked forward and handed me a large envelope. "This is the contract you'll need for tonight."
I grabbed it. “Thank you." Before he scurried out and closed the door behind him.
I quickly called Linley and apologised profusely. Carl had done his normal and I was having to do a meeting tonight now.
