22 MONTHS LATER Cleo My opponent circled me. I circled him. He circled me again. I sighed. For the love of the Goddess… If he intended to keep going around in circles, I was going to need a snack break. The past two years of training had taught me patience. Unfortunately, they hadn’t taught me that much patience. I loved fighting. I loved the rush of adrenaline flooding through my veins. I loved the anticipation that came just before an opponent attacked. I loved the split second when instinct took over and my body moved before my brain had time to think. Morning training wasn’t something I dreaded anymore. It was my favourite part of the day. My fun time. And after everything I’d been through, there was something incredibly satisfying about knowing I could now hold my own.
