They’d talked every night this week, even if it was just to go over the mundane parts of their days. Geri often stayed late at the shop, and her dedication was impressive to someone who, despite loving her job, was more than ready to go home at the end of the day. The constant interactions with people wore Kiara out. She wasn’t quite used to having to be “on” all the time while she was lecturing, trying to gauge the students’ reactions, and adjusting her talk to keep them engaged.
