Chapter 10 : Mum gets angry

We continued taking our breakfast as if nothing happened. After we were done we left the other twin in the dining room.

"let's go have a tour of the garden."

Chris suggested, once we were on the hallway.

"Sure, let's go." I responded.

Leading Chris to the backdoor we used the path to the left of the dining hall to get to the garden. I pushed open the door and the sight was breathtaking.

Roses of all types filled the flowerbeds. It looked like a beautiful rainbow sea. There was an eye-catching huge beautiful tree standing in the middle of the garden: it looked magical.

Chris ran off laughing into the garden.

"Be careful."

I yelled after him.

I leisurely took a stroll in the direction Chris had run off to. Taking in a deep breath I finally felt relief since being discharged from the hospital. Nature always has its way of healing and sharing its hope with me and I always remain grateful for that.

Looking around all the blossoming flowers, all the troubles of my past life seemed to be a far memory.

" It's going to be better, I will make sure of it." I told myself.

Chris came back running once he was close enough he stopped and started gasping for air. After a few seconds he finally spoke,

" Big T mum is calling us."

It didn't take long for Lynn to tell on us, I knew what was coming and I was prepared for it. In the past mum punished us by locking us in our rooms and starving us for the whole day. Chris had tried to defend me and was slapped by mum. That day he cried into exhaustion. Remembering the bit past only made me resolute to make everyone pay.

Turning to my little bro,

"Where is she?"

"At the patio near the big tree."

" Ooh I see, let's go...Chris when we arrive do not say anything okay."

"Okay Big T."

he responded earnestly.

Chris took the initiative of leading the way and we arrived where mum was shortly. Joana was standing next to mum.

"Joana you may leave." Mum's voice come through after she saw we had arrived.

"Yes ma'am " Joana responded with a bit of resistance tinged in her voice.

"You two, why do you always decide to cause trouble?" Mira questioned her children.

Neither Chris nor me replied.

" I am talking to you! Are you deaf?"

mum's voice grow louder and lacked the patience of a mother.

" I give you a good life and you repay by causing trouble on the first day?... I.. I just can't deal with this it's too stressful."

All this while we never uttered a single word to her, I wondered how our own mum never asked to hear about our side of the story and only scolded us.Aren't we her children? Sighing she angrily said,

"Both of you go to your rooms and don't bother coming out until it's dinner time."

She dismissed us just like that.

We both went back to my room silently. Once we were in the room Chris turned to me and asked softly,

" Doesn't mum love us?"

"What makes you think like that?..she..she does love us she just gets mad sometimes don't take it to heart little T."

"Oh!...okay."

he responded and went to the study table places at the right corner near the window of the room. Taking out his drawing book he started to draw and emerse himself in his work. On the other hand I settled on the big bed and took out my draft book and continued writing a novel I had began writing when I was 15. It was a romance novel where the lead lady was saved by the lead male and shared their lives together. I know it only happened in my pages where life was a fairytale but I was happy to create such a world. In my previous life my so-called step sister stole my work and took credit for it and this time round I won't let it happen. Together At Last was my story to tell: that was the title of my book.

As we did what made us happy time flew by and it was evening time for dinner. We decided to skip dinner and slept on an empty stomach. The days flew by quickly They were uneventful.Mum had informed us that we will be going back to a different school. I was glad about school. We started preparing for the school. After 3 weeks it was time to go back to school.
