I went downstairs to the living room and found no one there. Joana approached me,
" They are in the dining hall."
"Oh okay. Joana kindly have someone clean Chris's room."
She looked puzzled but agreed to do so.
"Thanks"
I responded while following her to the dining room. Joana joined the other household staff in serving dinner. I found everyone seated at the dinner table. I stood at the doorway a little lost in my thoughts. The atmosphere was lively like a picture- perfect happy family.
" I wish it would always be like this, but if wishes were horses beggars would ride them."
I said to myself.
I noticed Chris sat quietly on the edge of the dark hardwood brown dining table.Chris turned and saw me at the doorway giving me one of his beautiful smiles he gestured for me to come over and sit next to him and I did just that.
The dinner went on smoothly and we all retried for bed early. Chris and I slept in the same room as earlier.
The night went by quickly and it was morning the following day. It was the weekend and none of us had school. I woke up earlier than Chris. I sat quietly on the bed for a while in order to collect my thoughts. I was having a full on conversation by myself. I developed this habit from a young age.
"You have to be alert, remember the past and use it to your advantage. If my memory served me correctly the twins would launch their fist attack today at the breakfast table. You have to be ready."
I finished the pep talk and went into the bathroom to freshen up. I checked myself in the mirror and my injuries were healing up quite nicely. I took a warm relaxing shower for quite some time. While I was in the shower I had someone knocking.
"Who is it?"
" Big T, it's me I am going to my room to freshen up and change."
"Oh, okay little T, don't go downstairs without me."
"Okay." He responded.
I lingered a bit longer in the shower and my fingers had turned wrinkly due to the long exposure in the warm shower.
Wrapping my robe, I went into the closet and chose the most minimalist outfit: a black T-shirt and a blue pair of jeans.
I got out of the room having prepared mentally.
