"Sister?"

I couldn't believe it as I stare at my own sister Luis. She's been missing for years now, yet here she is, alive and well.

She disappeared when our parents died leaving me with our grandmother, I was only 3 then and she was 12. Next thing I heard was that she found her mate and they're living happily.

"What are you doing here Lucy?" she exclaimed as she literally jumped on me in excitement.

"You're alive" it came out more of a statement than a question.

"how?" "I thought you died" I said.

"please leave us" she ordered her guards and they all bowed and left. I still couldn't understand how she could command an entire pack.

"could it be her mate's pack?" I asked myself.

"come sister, we have a lot to talk about, in the meantime... oh wow, is that my niece?"

"can I please hold her?" I felt my wolf stir up, growling inside me. She's been very protective of Gabi this past few days.

"yeah sure, here" I handed Gabi to her as I mentally told my wolf to calm down and observe.

Though the woman in front of me is my sister, I couldn't bring myself to trust her... yet. I still remember how she found her mate and disappeared, leaving me alone after our parents died. I remember how I looked for her and couldn't find her, even when our grandmother died, she didn't come,it was like she vanished from the surface of the earth.

"she's beautiful, just like her mother. What's her name?"

"she's Gabriella, i named her after gra.."

"grandmother" we say in unison.

"you know she died after you disappeared, she couldn't handle the shock"

"I know, I heard". I hear her say as I feel my anger radiating in the room.

"you knew?" " you knew and you couldn't do anything?" I burst out not able to control my anger again.

"can you take a walk with me? I have a lot to tell you" "come let me show you around the pack"

I reluctantly followed her out to the pack.

I noticed how the other members of the pack were slightly bowing to her as she smiled back and waved at them.

"When our parents died," she started, " I was so bittered and sad. It was just the two of us and grandma"

"You were still little and grandma was old, I wondered how I was going to take care of the both of you. I..."

"So you ran away?" I interrupted her.

"No I didn't" she paused.

"I went to the woods for a run and to clear my head. I was too immersed in my thoughts that I didn't realize how far I had gone. It was too late when I got myself and I tried to get back home. I hadn't gone a few metres when an amazing smell filled my nose and I couldn't resist. I followed the smell and met the most handsome guy I've ever seen. My wolf was happy as we've met our mate and was happier when he accepted us."

I felt her joy because I felt the same way when I met mine, unfortunately, mine was a douchebag.

"We mated right away and for a second there I forgot all about my problems. You have no idea how much I wanted to bring him back to show you and grandma even though you were still a baby, but he insisted that I should follow him to his pack first then we'll come back to mine" she said as tears well up her eyes.

"I didn't know that would be the last time I'd see my pack again, a mistake I'll forever regret"

" What do you mean by that?" I asked before I could stop myself.

"I was only 12 back then, how was it possible to meet my mate at that age?" she asked, looking straight at me.

"magic" I said widening my eyes in surprise.

"Yes, magic. Apparently he used magic to lure me to the woods in the first place. When I followed him back to his pack, that was when I lost my freedom. I was locked up in their dungeon, beaten, r***d several times by the same man I thought was my mate." tears was now flowing freely from her eyes, same as mine.

"I realized he wasn't my mate but masked himself in that smell to get me to his pack to be his breeding machine. I tried so many times to escape but failed woefully each time, and I was always punished for it, each time harder than the first."

" So how did you get out?" I was shedding tears now, uncontrollably.

"Hmm" she sighed.

"After years of constant abuse, I couldn't give him any pup much to his disappointment. So one day he got tired of me and sent one of his warriors to kill me. He instructed him not to kill me in the pack lands, my blood is too dirty to be spilled on his lands, so he said" she scoffed.

" So the warrior took me far into the woods. When he got to where he felt was okay for me to die, he got greedy, he forced himself on me saying he couldn't just kill me without having his own share of me. I was tired and weak and he was way stronger than me so I couldn't stop him. He had his way with me. I prayed to the moon goddess to take my life because it is no longer worth living, but she didn't, instead she gave me a new one"

" How?" I asked

" As the warrior was buckling up his pants, he didn't notice when his dagger fell down. With the little strength left inside me, I grabbed it and stabbed him repeatedly until I felt his life leave him. I gathered my remaining strength and ran, I ran until I became dizzy, I was about to pass out when she came."

" Who?"

" Samantha" she said smiling

" Who is Samantha?" I asked.

" She's the reason I'm still breathing, the strongest witch I've ever met. She found me in my deepest pain and saved me."

" Apparently it was her mistress that has been serving that bastard the charms he has been using. She was on the run too having been fed up with the maltreatment she has been getting from her mistress. She used her magic to cloak us out of the pack without any trace and we've been hiding since then."

" So that's why nobody could find you, because of magic?" I asked her.

" I couldn't risk it Lucy. They have been looking for us, any slight mistake and we'd be gone."

I pondered over what she said and I couldn't blame her for hiding, I'm on the run too and hiding from my so called mate.

" So how did you become a leader, who are all these people?" I asked.

" There are from different packs. When Sam and I escaped, we sought refuge in the forest that was inhabited. We built our home there. She uses her magic to sense those that are in pain and also rescue them, that's how she found you. If I had known it was you I'd have come see you sooner in the hospital. These people see us as their benefactors, so they respect us in return."

" oh I see. And these people are untraceable too?"

" Yes they are. Once we rescue you, you go through a ritual where you'd be severed from your old pack and a protection spell will be put on you for protection and cloaking. We've been training ourselves to be strong warriors with Sam's help of course".

" come that's enough story for one day, let me take you to Sam. But before that, may I ask why you ran away from your mate?" she asked, catching me off guard.

" I..I..I" I stuttered not able to make one sentence.

" You know what? it's okay if you don't want to talk about it." I exhaled.

"But are you ready to go through the ritual?" she asked

" Hell yes" I answered without thinking twice.

"Then it's settled, let's go meet Sam."

Meanwhile in White Moon Pack.

Benson pov

" What do you mean she's gone?" I yelled at the shivering warriors in front of me.

"We followed her trail to the woods where she was last seen, a..n..d..."

And WHAT!!!? I screamed. I was loosing my mind, it's been 2 weeks and nobody has given me any good news.

" it's like no one was even there"

"The trail has gone cold too"

"it's like she just vanished from the face of the Earth" I couldn't stand it again as I lurched towards one of them. I was livid and ready to tear his head off.

"Stand down Benson, don't make me use my alpha command on you" I reluctantly released the shivering guy in my arms. I turned and bowed to my alpha.

" leave us" he commanded the warriors and they scurried away.

" What has come over you? I know you miss your mate and all, but it hasn't gotten to this".

" You're a man of honour Ben, don't lose that reputation" he said, calming me down a bit. He isn't just my alpha, he is also my best friend. We've been friends since we were kids and he has been a good one. He has been there for me ever since my mate ran away without any reason and I'm yet to find out why. My wolf has been howling in pain since she left. We could still feel her that means she's still alive. But where could she be?

"Let's clear things up here shall we? In the meantime you need to freshen up, you look like s**t". He clearly joked, lightening up my mood.

" Thank you alpha" I said.

" No Ben, I didn't come as your alpha, I came as your best friend".

" Thank you, Jayson" I smiled.

"Now that you're back, I need my beta back, you've been slacking off in your duties lately, remind me to punish you later". he winked at me making me to laugh.

He took that as a cue and left the room. I slumped down on the bed taking in the mess I've made.

"Don't worry Sunny, we'll find her, I promise, and when we do, she won't ever leave our sight again".
