I never really thought about it the way Harlow described it . Everything was moving so fast I hadn’t had a chance to sit down and take it all in. I was going to be a wolf. I was going to stand next to a man who was handsome, kind, and loving. I was going to be a leader of so many people. Maybe that’s why I was studying management and leadership. What was I even expecting out of that? Maybe the first female president? The next queen of England? I laughed at myself for that one. How could I have trusted any man to be next to me knowing that I had carried half the soul of another? Come to think of it, is that why I could never give myself to Ethan? Why I'm a virgin at almost 22? Someone was destined to me until the very end and I think part of me knew that. I feel bad that humans don’t get that chance to know unless they are fated to a wolf. They will go through many relationships to find the one. I wish god was like the moon goddess, just so when they think they found the one they would know forsure.

“Hey love, I didn’t think you’d still be awake. Are you okay?” Ash says, closing the door.

“Yeah, I was just thinking.”

“About what may I ask?” As he wrapped his arms around me.

“Just about all this. How I will be a wolf soon and how mates are a thing. The world would be so much better if it was like the werewolf world.”

“I agree, but I also have to disagree. For some it’d be a blessing, but the werewolf world ain’t perfect. There are plenty of wolves out there who reject their fated because they see them as weak or some get abused until they can’t take it anymore and reject them. Humans have more rules than we do. If a wolf were to kill their mate due to abuse, we see the signs and let them go and most get a second chance mate. As for humans, they’d go to jail and would never experience love again.”

“It’s sad.”

“That it is.” He kissed the top of my head.

“Do you think I’ll make a good Luna?”

“Are you kidding me? Did you not hear the conversation we just had? That was compassion. And you were demanding me to take an omega with us because you think she wasn’t being treated right? That’s love. You standing your ground against Rebekah being a human. That was protectiveness and bravery. You will make a fantastic Luna, my love.”

“I’m glad you found me. This is where I want to be, Ash.”

“I’m glad I found you. My life has been so much better since the first time I saw you. How about we go to sleep we have to talk to alpha Andrew tomorrow about taking the omega home with us.”

“Okay.” I kissed him. “Goodnight.”

I wake up in the garden again.

“Hello moon goddess”

“Oh dear, please call me Selene.”

“Okay, Selene, no offense, but why am I here again?”

“No offense taking Hun. How do you like Ash?”

“Feelings are definitely growing. When I’m with him, I feel like this is where I was supposed to be.”

“You are feeling the mate bond. That’s great! And how are you adjusting to the wolf world?”

“It’s a lot, but I’m no longer scared. We just went to an alpha ceremony and I saw all of them shift and didn’t pass out.”

Selene chuckled, “Well I’m glad. The reason I called you here was to give you an update on what’s going to happen.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, I figured you’d started to develop feelings for Ash by now, and you'd eventually mate. When you do, you must know that your eyes will glow. I’m telling you this now, so you don’t panic after you mate you’ll be ready to be marked, but you must wait until the full moon to be marked.”

“My eyes will what? Why will they glow? Why do I have to wait to be marked?”

“Being marked under the full moon will unlock your full potential. You must mate before the full moon though. I can’t tell you anymore right now. Just know great things will be happening! I’m so excited for you and Ash. Now I must go. I’ll see you again after it happens. But remember, Elina, you must not trust anyone outside of Ash’s family.”
