Thea's pov
My loyal maid Elisa rushed to me carrying a doleful look on her happy face.
"What is wrong with you?" My lips questioned her somber gaze which was quite unusual.
"The king is reconsidering your marriage with Sir Issac!" Words came out of her mouth.
"But why?" I raised my voice.
"Alan Ainsworth, the Alpha of Sliver Moon pack asked for your hand in marriage!" My ears refused to believe her words.
"Alan, the war hero?" I reconfirmed.
"Yes, my lady!" Elisa lowered her gaze to the floor and murmured.
"I need to talk to my father!" My panicked self hurried to the main hall.
"Father!" My shaken voice groaned.
"You must have heard about Alan!" He already knew the reason behind my agitation.
"Reject his proposal, please!" My desperation pleaded to him.
"I would never force my children to marry someone against their choice!" His words soothed my unsettled thoughts.
Tears rolled down my eyes and my arms wrapped around his neck.
"Thank you, Father!" My words whispered in his ear.
"Just promise me one thing, Thea!" Father asked for my affiliation.
"What is it?" My mind was inquisitive.
"If Alan approaches you, please behave politely!" He was concerned about my outrage.
"I give you my word!" My lips responded.
***
"My lady, where are you going?" Elisa asked with curiosity
"To meet Issac, please do not wait for me!" My lips answered and my feet moved swiftly to the lake.
"Issac!" My voice uttered his name.
He turned his head in the direction of my voice and gleamed a peaceful smile.
"You're late, Thea!" His sweet voice complained.
"A lady needs time to look perfect, especially when she's meeting her lover after three months!" He chuckled at my answer.
"So my lady, how have you been?" His fingers gently tucked my hair behind my ear.
"I missed you so much!" Words came out of my mouth as my arms wrapped around his neck.
"Soon we're getting married, then we can spend as much time as we want." My cheeks turned red with his words.
He pecked my forehead and slowly shifted his gaze to my lips.
"Can I touch your lips?" His question hit my stomach with butterflies.
"Issac!" His name rolled down my tongue as shyness dominated my soul.
We have been together for three years, yet my heart still wasn't ready to submit my body to him.
Maybe I was being too cautious about my father's prestige!
"I need to go now, Thea!" He whispered in his polite voice and headed straight to the woods.

At night…
"Elisa, what do you know about Alan Ainsworth?" For some strange reason, I was curious about him.
"He is no less than a Devil!" Her words amazed me.
"What?" I propelled her to tell more.
"He kills whoever interrupts his way!" Fear reflected in her eyes as she spoke of him.
"But he is a war hero, isn't he?" My lips murmured.
"He is indeed the most respected Alpha of our kingdom, but he is also merciless and lacks sentiments!" She told the real truth about Alan's nature.
"I can't believe Father was reconsidering my marriage with Issac because of someone like him!" Bitterness ramped up inside my soul.
"That's because Alan Ainsworth is the most powerful Alpha of Sollera and he has also gained the title of war hero!" She explained the reason.
"You should sleep now, my lady!" Elisa blew off all the candles and quietly left the room.
***
A cold breeze coming through the window pulled me out of my deep sleep.
"I thought Elisa closed the window!" My lips murmured in half sleep.
"Your maid is careless!" A deep voice reached my ears, startling my soul to the essence.
My feet slowly moved closer to that voice only to see a dark shade sitting on the window.
My body started trembling and my throat went dry as fear encircled me from all sides!!!
That man jumped on the floor and his boots made a loud sound.
"Who are you?" My voice somehow managed to speak.
He came closer and grabbed my wrist as if I was his possession.
"Leave me!" My voice screamed, yet he clasped my lips.
"Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh" His mouth commanded me to calm down.
Even though darkness was the only thing I could see, my senses felt his masculine body.
His strength pinned my body against the window, and his palm was still on my lips.
Our bodies were only inches apart, and even his breathing was brushing my bare neck.
"Nice to meet you, Thea!" A long ray of moonlight coming through the window faded the darkness from his face at once.
Our eyes met for the first time, but mine were replenished with fear whereas his eyes were glowing red.
"I am Alan Ainsworth!" His mouth introduced himself.
My eyes widened at his name, and my legs started shivering.
His palm slowly freed my lips from his grip and touched the window behind me.
"Why are you here?" I questioned in my soft tone.
"To give you a choice!" Words came out of his mouth.
"Choice?" My stuttering voice repeated.
"My guards captured your lover and now he is rotting in my prison!" Madness was dancing in his red turned ocean-blue eyes.
"How could you?" My hands angrily clutched his collar.
He grabbed my wrist and removed my tight grip from his collar, glaring straight into my eyes.
"Marry me and he will live, go against me and he will die!" He threatened, showing no mercy.
"No, please!" Tears rolled down my eyes and my voice begged.
His fingers brushed off my tears and lifted my chin.
"I don't want your tears, I want your answer!" A smirk glinted on the corner of his lips.
He was holding the leash named 'Issac' against my misery as if he was well acquainted with the unconditional love inside my heart.
Issac's life was more important than my stubbornness even if that means sacrificing myself.
"Answer me, Thea!" His voice demanded.
I clenched my tears from falling down my cheeks and replied "Don't hurt Isaac, I'll do as you say!"
For the sake of Issac, my soul submitted to the devil standing in front of me.
