I should’ve argued with him. I should’ve protested at his command but I couldn’t. He was the Crown Prince; his word was the law. But as I stared at the mountain of texts sitting in front of me, I was considering going to Arkin and telling him I couldn’t do it. There was just too much knowledge and there was no way I could memorize and understand all of it in just seven days.
Mayhap I could ask Arkin for some more time. The morrow, when I would meet him for combat training I’d request him to give me some more time to prepare. Which would be beneficial for him as he wouldn’t have to waste his time on me by testing me.
