Pepper was in the back mumbling to herself, and her shoe squeaked against the floor. I walked towards her through the maze of plants. Finally, she was within sight. She grabbed something off a giant plant, threw it on the ground, and stomped on it.
I couldn’t help but chuckle at her childish maneuver. She jumped and looked at me with wide eyes.
“You scared me! Why do you keep sneaking up on me like that?” She shouted. Her face dropped, and her shoulders slumped. “I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to yell.”
