I dumped the black venom into the clear, shimmering liquid. Once the venom touched the potion’s surface, the potion turned black.
A massive plume of black fog came out of the cauldron. It was thick and coated the insides of my lungs; the plume filled the room. The scent of rotten flesh filled the room. Someone opened the door and shouted. I grabbed the book and went towards the scent of fresh air.
The three of them stood outside coughing, and I wheezed and tried to expel the tainted air that filled my lungs.
