A growl escaped my throat, and Ansel shot me a smile. Letho flared in the back of my mind, and I craved to feel his bones crunching beneath my fist. I’ll be d*mned if he thinks he’ll get away with taking Pepper away.
“What do you mean?” Pepper asked in a puzzled tone.
“Please, I know Rhett isn’t the most trusting person. And he certainly doesn’t trust me. He tries to hide it, but I can tell.” Ansel waved his hand in dismissal and wiped a tear from his eye.
